Lottery Draft Generator? REP
Is there a program for generating lottery pick results? Does anyone have a method they could let me know about?
I run a 10-team league and teams 5-10 will have this summer's entry draft picks determined by a lottery. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use the NHL draft lottery results. Match the last place team with whichever NHL team has the best lottery odds, etc. If an unmatched NHL team wins the lottery then last place in your league gets the first pick. This way no one can ever accuse the commish of "rigging" the lottery and the added bonus is that it makes watching the draw on TV interesting

We used it for our lottery last year. Worked great. If I remember correctly you get to enter all the details of the lottery and the names of all the teams and their emails. So everyone receives the results at the same time.

We simply use poker chips. The team with the best chance gets the most chips, second-best chance gets second-most chips, etc.
The draw is done live when there are usually four or five guys of the pool around. One year, they videoed the results.
Pretty basic, but it works.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.
League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.
We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

This is more what we wanted to do. We wanted to make the draft day a little more exciting and an excuse to get together and rib each other. But we decided its just simpler to get it over with with the lottery online.

I think they used to automatically email the results to everyone (so it doesn't look like you kept generating results until it was favorable for you). But now it looks like you have to donate $2.00 to them in order for the email report to be generated and sent. Haven't tried it, just do the free version.
