Default Which D for the rest of the year?

One year league, Yahoo H2H daily lineups start 4D // G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG

Who do you prefer between Beauchemin, Franson (just dropped), Gardiner, Muzzin? Basically is Beauchemin better than either Franson/Gardiner, and is Gardiner now a better option than Franson - 5 more minutes tonight.

    Thanks!

I guess it depends on where you are in the league?

If you want a safer bet, I'd stay with Beauchemin.

If you want to take a flier, Gardiner or Muzzin for me.

Either way, I don't see there being a huge difference in production.

I'm in 2nd place out of 10 teams with a pretty stacked team.

I'm currently rocking Muzzin, but I'm not sure if he's really the best option. I'm thinking guys like Franson/Gardiner are less "flukes" but I know a guy like Beauchemin could continue to be great, eating minutes with Anaheim.

I guess I'm just torn, looking for some sound advice on what I should do with a strong team looking for a 4th Dman.

EDIT: Wiercoch and Paul Martin are also available, but Im just torn between more viable options. E

In that case, I'd go Beauchemin, with Gardiner a close 2nd.

Anaheim has 19 (10 home, 9 away) games left in the season; Toronto 17 (9 home, 8 away i think). Both teams are equally scoring, with the higher clip going to Anaheim. Anaheim also has the higher PP conversion.

In today's games, Beauchemin played 37% of pp opp; Gardiner played 30%. Beauchemin's +/- is also awesome.

Gardiner comes in a close 2nd, as I see TO using him more offensively as Phaneuf gets the harder opposition.

I like Beauchemin the rest of the way. He's playing at a whole other level.

Out of the guys you mentioned I'd take Beauchemin. He and the Ducks are having a great year.

Beauchemin for me too. Ana is playing great. He is seasoned and has no threat of losing any playing time whatsoever.

    I would gamble on Muzzin.

Beauchemin's had a good year so far, but let's be honest, the guy is a proven 20 point player throughout his career. He only has points in 2 of his last 11 games... I think the hot streak is over.

With Muzzin I think you have a better chance of riding a hot streak during the home stretch.

Muzzin or Gardiner for the rest of the year.

Gardiner for me. Most skilled of that crew and he's not going anywhere now. PP time will only go up all year.

Would take Franson for now and see where that goes...if Gardiner starts to get more PP1 time, take Gardiner.
I feel like Beau's streak is over, Martin's is obviously over, Muzzin won't get anywhere this season.

Thanks for the responses, guys. It's good to hear the valued opinions of TripleB and blayze, whom I respect so much on these boards.

I'm still kind of torn, Muzzin has been hot and getting prime PP but he seems like a fluke and I know Gardiner has LEGIT upside.

I guess if I were looking for which Dman will be the most successful on the PP and who will have the most SOG, who would you pick?

    Thanks again!

I cycled in Paul Martin for this weekend (no Letang), but starting Sunday I'll be looking to add one of these guys full time.

Hmm, any reason why you like Franson more than Gardiner?

It's not a question of LEGIT upside, or even a question of talent.

It's a question of who is in the best position to catch fire over the last 15 games of the season... Muzzin is hot RIGHT NOW and he's getting prime PP time.

Taking Gardiner or Franson would be asinine in my opinion, you have no idea who's going to be getting the PP time other than Phaneuf on that team.

LA Defense PP time over the last 3 games:

    JAKE MUZZIN SLAVA VOYNOV 43.82%
    JAKE MUZZIN DREW DOUGHTY 19.1%

Yeah, I watched that whole LA game last night basically scouting Muzzin and he had almost 24 minutes, paired with Doughty in almost every situation. You're totally right on the matter of legit upside, and it's not like Muzzin hasn't been producing for me.

    I guess I'm just over-complicating matters.
