Oils fans, tell me. Is he finally back?

I've been unsuccessful at trading for a replacement for Karlsson. Now I'm starting to think rather than overpay, I should just roll with Whitney.

The way people were talking, he was done, no longer fit to play in the NHL. To those of you who watch the team, has his game suddenly improved or is this just a lucky streak?

He has played a lot better as of late. I don't think he's back to where he was before he started having all the injury troubles, but he's looked decent lately. I actually just picked him up off waivers myself and I'm hoping he gets traded to a contending team where he slots in nicely.

But, from what I've seen I'm unconvinced he is still the same player he was a few years ago.

Whitney's days of being an NHL top 4 dman are over unless he miraculously gets new feet. That does not mean that he is not a very good fantasy dman. He is all very good at running a PP and the Oilers still have a pretty good one. This means that Whitney will still put up a good number of points with the majority of them coming on the power play.

If your deadline hasn't passed I would try to take advantage of it and sell him now while you can get something.

Probably because they are close to dealing him and are afraid of him getting hurt, then getting stuck with him. LOL!

He has been playing much better lately, and I am sure the Oilers are quite happy about that. Certainly helping them get a better return when a deal does happen.
