Default I'm about to give up on Halak. Please tell me why I should or shouldn't.

Roto league, 41 games remaining for my goalies. I need a massive amount of wins and a lot of .900+ games to catch up.

I'm about to give up on Halak. Varlamov ain't cutting it and TB can't win. But at least they're freaking playing!!! Pretty soon I'm going to trade Halak plus one or more of my elite forwards for another goalie.

What would you guys do in my situation?
What goalies would you target in my situation?

Goalies Available on the trading block:

    1. Dubnyk
    2. Quick & Bernier
    3. Luongo & Schneider
    4. Hiller & Fasth
    5. Price
    6. Crawford & Niemi (but I'd rather stay away, this GM might win the league!)

Price, Hiller, Fasth are obviously commanding a king's ransom. But what about the first 3 options???

I like option 2 and option 3, if it is not too ridiculous of a price

2 and 4 may be backwards as in kinda considering a buy low on quick. 6 and 5 may be unatainable. But here's how it see it

Do you mean you could get both Lu and Schneider? I'd be looking to buy low on them...Vancouver always starts slow. They will turn it around.

I'd try for Quick before he turns it around and he is not longer an option. I'd assume Price would cost too much. Try and land Quick at at decent price now

There's no buying goalies low in this league where Justin Peters and Dan Ellis are some people's starting goaltenders. No one's going to trade me if I don't give up at least Perry.

Quick just got a shutout so his price probably just skyrocketed...

    Perry, Halak for Quick, Bernier?

If you're paying Perry for a decent goaltender you're just sinking your ship. I think you have better odds winning this league by just hoping Halak turns it around as opposed to trading Perry, hoping your remaining O is good enough, AND hoping the tender you traded for continues to play well.

I would go for the Kings goaltending tandem. While it is not a guarantee I will bet on them going on some kind of winning streak to get into the playoffs. We are already passed the halfway mark, I wouldn't hinge on Halak turning it around.

It's hard to calculate the odds but you might be right. If Halak and Varlamov turn it around and win 60% of their next starts, I have a good shot at winning. But they haven't shown any level of consistency this season.

    Halak for his Clarkson, then
    Perry for his Quick, Bernier

or Halak, Perry for his Quick, Bernier, Pominville (I drop Briere)

    Yay or nay??

Halak and Perry for Quick, Bernier, & Clarkson (or Pominville).

I would do it, I don't feel comfortable with Halak right now. I would probably go with Clarkson on the hopes Marty is back in action soon enough.
