Haven't watched the Oilers lately, the numbers look better, but is it a blip, or is he finally starting to "figure it out"?

He's finally getting a legitimate opportunity to play in a scoring role. That said he's not a top scorer in the long term, more a third liner with some sjkill and part time second liner in a pinch. Worth a short term pickup though.

I think he would have more opportunity to succeed if he were traded. I recently picked him up as well because I noticed a jump in minutes and production, but with all the big young names in Edmonton I can not see him reaching his full potential. Anyway he is still very young and this is only his 3rd year, so if there is room on your roster I think he is worth holding on to, but for short-term I think it's well worth it. Guy is getting close to the same minutes as players like RNH and Eberle and in addition seeing powerplay minutes.

I watch a lot of Oilers games and this is a pretty good analysis. There's too many offensive forwards ahead of him in Edmonton that his role long term will likely be a two-way player with some offensive touch.
