unless the return is ridiculous no you should not trade malkin
(This is for the 2nd team in my sig.)
With injuries and players not performing how they did last season, my team has crashed hard. Currently, I'm sitting at 10th out of 16 and I'm killing my current matchup but so is the 8th place team. So there's a good chance I won't make the playoffs.
Considering my squad, do you guys think its necessary to deal Malkin and acquire a couple star players to replace some of the baggage on my team? As well, unless Luongo finds a new home next season, I might have to look for a goalie replacement.

Without knowing the return for Mailkin my knee jerk reaction would be to not to trade Malkin. There are not many layers that are better than he is.

never trade Malkin. sounds like you aren't in contention. Obviously he will play a healthy season next season and now is the time to sit back.

Don't mistake opinion for fact.
No. Your team was hit hard this year: Lu being in a timeshare, Benn being a late-comer, Eriksson struggling, RNH struggling.
I'd hope for the playoffs (where you could still do some damage) and sit back and be excited about next year. If anything, I'd be looking to move Boyle and Niemi for some younger, better pieces. They'd be of interest to competing teams I'm guessing.

Thanks guys for the responses. I'll stand pat then and see if there is interest for some of my older players. The team that has the guys I would want for Malkin has been sending me some pretty questionable (lame) offers so I definitely would not get anything anywhere near an overpayment.
It just seems like this year has been kinda crappy in general.
you take a bad year out on your shit players never a star
never trade angry
I know - I try not to. I "sort of" did that with Thornton/Pavelski to get Eriksson/Ryan (though I'm sure the new guys will outperform in the long run).
I would be selling most of my guys on the low anyways (...I guess that includes Malkin as well), so probably not worth doing much unless someone wants to be generous.
