    Default Conacher or Silfverberg (Long-term)

League cats for skaters are G, A, PPP, +/-, SOGs, Blks. Who do you prefer long term?

i like them both, but i like Silfverberg that much more. Maybe i'm biased, but i feel he'll be better long term. i suspect you'll get a close split on this one.

Conacher = MSL (which isnt all that bad)
Silfverberg = Sundin :shudder: (maybe Forsberg)

Too early to tell for sure. My preference would be the guy who won the AHL rookie of the year and AHL league MVP!

Indeed! The kid proved he was the real deal last year in the AHL and he is scoring at close to a point per game in his first NHL season... Conacher for me!

I wouldn't judge based on that alone because Silfverberg has won his fair share of awards in the SEL. I think they both have similar upside although it's looking like Conacher is off to a quicker start. I would feel very confortable with either one of them on my team.

Conacher won't match MSL by a long shot and Silfverberg is nowhere close to Sundin or Forsberg, not even in terms of playing style. I'd dial down my expectations on him if I were you.

At least the Conacher comparison somewhat makes sense, but the Sundin/Forsberg one made me LOL... might as well compare him with Lidstrom while we're at it since he's Swedish too

We are talking about the same Forsberg who put up better than PPG numbers in his first year and then 116 at the same age as Silf is now? And the same Sundin who went 1st overall and put up 114 at the same age as Silf?

I wouldn't say the Conacher/M.St.Louis comparison is that far off to be honest..

Conacher's first real AHL season: 80 points in 75 games

M.St.Louis first real AHL season: 62 points in 53 games

Conacher's first real NHL season: 18 points in 20 games(so far)

M.St.louis first NHL season: 18 points in 56 games

I would agree that M.St.Louis has put up some major numbers in the NHL and it will definitely be hard for Conacher to match those lofty point totals, but he definitely seems to be on his way so far..

And they are both 5'8 175-180lbs.. Very similiar.. HAHA..

If Conacher ever puts up 100+ points and several more 90+ point seasons, I'll eat my hat. And I own the guy.

I would aswell to be honest.. But you just never know.. Playing with Stamkos throughout his career, if thats the case, will get him his fair share of points..

I made a deal with Angus a few weeks ago in my H2H keeper league (team in sig) for Conacher, Ott and a 2nd round pick for Burrows, Atkinson and a 4th round pick. I was really hurting in PIM, FW and Hits so Ott saved the day (plus he gets FWs while lining up on the LW which is sweet). Atkinson was wasting away on the IR at the time so Conacher's production was a nice addition. They're also both LWs which are hard to fill. Hopefully Burrows goes back to putting up the kinds of numbers he's capable of and Atkinson reaches his potential because the kid's got skills. Pretty even trade but I am extremely happy with the players I got out of the deal. And the pick upgrade is icing on the cake.

Thanks for all of the feedback everyone! Just to close the loop on this, I ended up trading Conacher for Tyler Ennis. Hard to say goodbye to Conacher as I do like his game, but I really needed to acquire some depth at center and like the upside that Ennis brings to the table. So I thought it was pretty good return based on where I drafted Conacher this preseason vs. what it would have cost me to acquire Ennis previously.

    Thanks again for the input.

    Cheers.

A steal, as I've mentioned to you.

And great timing for your short term needs, Conacher now on 3rd line with Malone's return, and got only 13 mins last night...
