    Default Smith vs Ward

In a keeper how much better is Smith than Ward.

I have had Ward for a few years now, guy drives me nuts. Yea he is highly skilled, but he is so inconsistent and Carolina is a mess defensively. Ive been trying to ditch him for a while.

I just flipped Ward and Filpulla straight up for Smith. Im deep in offence and figured I could afford this move. Will I regret this? I figure Smith will sign long term in Phoenix, which will hopefully continue to be a goalie haven in the Tippett system.

Can anyone make me feel good about this trade?

With your league cats Smith is the better goalie. He will throw in the occasional stinker but not as frequently as Ward. If your league counts saves, Ward's value gets a little boost but in the end, Smith is still the better bet. I own Ward and I'd rather have Smith.

You did good. Ward is talented, but CAR is not. And he simply does not live up to the hype. Good move.

I had Smith in my league last year. I was battling for first and in a tight race in the goalie cats. I can't tell you how sweet it was to be able to roll Smith out night after night not having to analyze past games against the opponents.

He was a rock for me last year. Wouldn't have won without him.

I don't think he gets the respect he should. Maybe its a Phoenix factor, but if there is any player you want to own on Phoenix, with the system Tippet employs, its Smith.
