    He may flop.

He may also achieve the Vezina-worthy level that he's capable of (the upside of which he showed his rookie year) - if he continues to grow as a netminder and is continued to be given opportunities in his new environment.

    I'm optimistic.

We get it too, you're mad about it. Sorry I'm not sorry.

How can one NOT have a hard on for a goaltender who goes from zero to hero after getting traded? Hollywood couldn't have scripted this better.

If you weren't mad, you wouldn't respond with flame posts to my thread that don't contribute to the discussion regarding Steve Mason.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to do some celebrating. I really don't see why you are mad though - your Red Wings made it to the playoffs. Show a little cheer and let the Steve Mason fans enjoy themselves

How nice of you to dictate to me the ONLY reason why I would respond to you! That does not make you look like an idiot at all! Happy trails!

    Wonderful! I don't think you're a complete idiot either.

    Let's get back on topic:

Steve Mason tonight - some of those saves were reminiscent of Patrick Roy - the swagger with which he's carrying himself is completely unlike his demeanor in columbus.. It's safe to say that for now, he's playing with tons more confidence.

With every passing game, the trade to Philly is looking more and more like genius on the GM's part.

The best thing about the season ending: we no longer have to tolerate you resuscitating this thread (along with 5 others) every time Mason gets a win.

I have always thought that Steve Mason was very talented and had good mechanics and could succeed if moved out of Columbus but you comparring him to Roy is a little obserd Imust say!

You spoke too soon - everytime Mason goes to McDonald's or gets a parking ticket, this thread is getting a post. Sorry I'm not sorry.

I should have clarified - I was talking about the way that he carried himself, and not necessarily his talent level (though I do think he's really talented too :P- of course I don't think anyone today is nearly as talented as Roy was).

Roy always had this air of confidence about him - he often snagged the pucks out of mid air with authority (and let's face it- arrogance). Mason's been doing that with his saves at times - definitely looking more authoritative and playing with that spunk. The other goalies I see who play with a similar demeanor are Lehner (he's even angrier than Roy), and Ray Emery.

Its like I'm playing CoD online in here or something...with less racism (so far).
