great job on the re-cap. a good read.
Studs
Just A Guy In A Montreal Uniform
Who happened to be on the ice for all 3 goals against his former team. Brandon Prust who skipped out on the Rangers this past offseason faced his former team for the first time last night. 1 assist, 2 shots, 1 blocked shot, 4 hits and a +/- of +3 was the stat line for this agitating winger; he even managed to win 2 of 3 faceoffs. Many thought that the 4 year $10M deal was a bit high for a player with his skill set, but so far while lining up with Montreal's two hot rookies for most of this season Prust has been giving Montreal a little bit of everything.
Shark Leprosy
Adam Burish, Michal Handzus, and Joe Thornton combined to go 29 for 34 in the circle last night. The trio are all over 50% on the season with Thornton approaching 60%.
Because I Choose To
Craig Anderson stopped 37 of 38 shots against the New York Islanders as the Senators won 3-1 last night. His February hasn't been as strong as his January, but that was to be expected. He has only given up 3 goals in 2 games since the Karlsson injury so those of you looking to unload him fearing the bottom might drop out should be able to hold firm to your demands for now.
Honorable Mentions
Shea Weber extends his point streak to 4 games now with a goal and assist last night. His +2, 3 shots, 3 blocks and 1 power play point should have rounded out your stats nicely.
The Sedin's combined for 4 points last night. The red haired one had a goal and an assist and the other red haired one had 2 assists. 2 PIMs and 6 shots rounded out Daniel's numbers. Both are riding 3 game point streaks with a combined 11 points in those 3 games.

Deepwater Horizon
Wow these guys really love to give up goals when it is my turn to write an article. Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Nick Schultz and Justin Schultz combined for a -14 last night. All but Nick were on the ice for every single Los Angeles goal, and he was on for 2 of them. What's that cliche time to get back to basics, yeah it might be that time.
The Artist Formally Known As The King
6 of 13 games this season his SV% has been below .900 including last night. Sure Henrik Lundqvist only allowed 2 goals, but on only 17 shots making his SV% .882 on the night. After a rough January he seems to have turned things around in February so hopefully last night was an outlier and not a return to his earlier crappy numbers.
Do Not Trust The Gorton's Fisherman
After going 3-3-1 in their first 7 games the New York Islanders looked like they might be ready to take that next step and compete for a playoff spot. Well last night's loss makes them 3-7 in their last 10 and it seems like the road might be a bit bumpier than expected. The secondary scoring seems to be slowing down and it is looking more and more like this team will only go as far as John Tavares can take it.
Odds & Ends
Beast Of The East
Montreal extended their winning streak to 5 games last night and they are 7-2-1 in their last 10. They currently sit atop not only their division but their conference. Even with Gallagher out it seems like Galchenyuk is still getting it done, and while other rookies seem to have cooled off a bit he continues to plug away at it.
Really
Yeah sorry no clever headline for this one as that whole Deja Vu all over again is very cliche. Marian Hossa was hit in the head last night to prematurely end his 2 goal night. I could go into a huge rant but instead I will just say that the NHL better figure this out and figure it out quick.
