    Default Advice - Rep Given

My league is described below in my signature.

I am currently in 1st place, 7 points ahead of 2nd place.

I have only 6 waiver wire moves available for the entire season, and I've already used 3. I was wondering if you guys think I should use anymore and get rid of Olli Jokinen, or hold out for a little while longer. The owner in 2nd place has used all of his waiver wire moves for the season.

    or

Do I trade Stamkos/Jokinen and try and get a 2-for-1 type deal?

    Rep given for good answers!

You want to do a 2 for 1 as in Stamkos and Jokinen for one other player? There isn't a player in the league where you'd be getting an upgrade. Stamkos for Crosby/Malkin in a 1-1 is at best a lateral move, but adding Jokinen doesn't make sense. I definitely wouldn't trade Stamkos just to avoid using a waiver wire move.

If you're that desperate to get rid of Jokinen I'm sure there is an owner somewhere that would take him off your hands for a lesser player. If it were me I'd hang onto him and wait it out for a bit.

Do not trade Stamkos ever! He is hockey Gold. Dont waste a waiver claim on Jokinin. He isnt worth it. Wait for someone else to pop up.

The real question is....who is available on the waiver wire. If they are a significant upgrade on Jokinen, then go for it. Use the move. It's a 48 game sched so I don't see much point in holding on to them. Although it would be wise to save a few in case you hit injuries in the playoffs. So who is available that you can replace Jokinen with?

My thoughts exactly - Who would you pick up on the waiver wire that is better than Jokinen?

Save some moves for injuries down the road .. how many people make it to the playoffs? As long as you can get in then save your moves for the end when you need the boost for the final push for the win.

You need to list who's available on the wire. Until then it's hard to give you a good advice.

    And I wouldn't trade stamkos in a 2 for 1 deal

    1) I would drop OJ for Henrique

    2) If you're trading Stamkos in a package for anyone named anything but Crosby... Bad move.

Yeah, at the moment I think the only Winnipeg forward worth a spot on your roster at the moment is Ladd. I'd drop Wheeler and wait for him to pick it up and then pick him up.

Wheeler is exhibiting a similar trend as per last year. He started off quite slow at the beginning and towards the second half picked it up and was a valuable contributor. Watch out for Wheeler to do the same later on in the season. ** not to say Wheeler is doing poorly now, however based on last season I expected a continued breakout pace.
