Default Who is this year´s Pietrangelo?

I was hit by the Karlsson incindent and need to make a smart move with D.

So who do you think will be this year´s Pietrangelo, defenceman who comes a bit out of nowhere and plays excellent second half?

    Faulk?

I don't think you should be looking for the next Pietrangelo. Look for the best point producer regardless of what he has done in the past. It doesn't have to be a guy that comes out of nowhere.

Pietrangelo didn't exactly come out of nowhere either lol...the talent was never in question, it was just a slow start.

If you want an example of someone who could do something similar and go off in the second half I'd maybe inquire on how much it'd take to acquire Drew Doughty. I actually received an offer of Granlund/Doughty for my Visnovsky/Callahan in my one-year last night... Doughty owners are frustrated.

I would say we only get an AP-rising every 2-3 years.
Not sure there is "that guy" this year.

Could be Jonas Brodin next year?
    Or Dougie Hamilton?

I think Victor Hedman is the closest thing to it.
He's been awesome even-strength... if he can take the step to that TB PP... he could pull an AP.

I'd say OEL. His production is starting to really speak volumes in the fantasy world. He's definitely worth targeting in a trade.

OEL is a no-brainer, but I would think most fantasy-savvy GMs are aware of what this guy can do..and is already showing.

Voynov? 26mins the other night, couple assists. I know Doughty is the guy in LA, but young Slava is stepping up.

Faulk in Carolina. Big minutes as well, and I would think some production should soon follow.

Perhaps Cody Franson could have some value too, given the PP time he's seeing.

Erik Johnson...I mean, Tyson Barrie..I mean, Stefan Elliott. I mean, oh never mind.

I'd say Faulk, if you're asking about someone who either might not be owned or could be had for a low price. He's getting great opportunity in Carolina and I expect him to get better.

Voynov I'd also agree with to an extent, but I can't help but think that the funk that's affecting Doughty and the rest of LA would affect him as well.

That said, I don't think either one will turn into Pietrangelo.
