    Default Time to drop Yakupov.

Being that we are a limited (4) keeper league would you consider dropping Yakupov? I have Kesler returning and a surging Voracek sitting out there waiting to be plucked. Not sure there's much of a trade market for him for that exact reason.

I would maybe think long and hard about keeping Yakupov over Quick.. I think you can make due with drafting different goalies every year.. You will always have lots of tenders to pick from.. Just my opinion at first glance..

I made the mistake of dropping Backstrom (F) in his rookie season (which coincidentally was my own rookie season), on the theory that in a keep-four it would be unlikely that I'd end up keeping him.

To this day, it's still the move that I regret the most.

We can only keep 3 offense players the last must be a goalie or d-man. So he would have to bump one of Sid, Ovie or Seguin. And I'm currently making a play for Karlsson and stashing him on IR for the remainder of the year to keep him....hoping the other GM bites.

Well if thats the case, then yes Yakupov shall be traded..

Try and trade Yakupov and Ovechkin/Seguin for Malkin..

Yeah, that's exactly how our league was at that time. But it turned out that another manager snatched Backstrom right up off of waivers and owns him to this day.

I would look around your league and see if you can't package him and Seguin for an improvement on Seguin. At the very least I'd be waiting for the end of the season to decide if I'd want to keep him over Seguin.

That's where I made my mistake, thinking that I had my keepers figured out a quarter-way into the season.

Great point and very true. Just thinking of doing that same move in my limited keeper (8). A workhorse like Quick might be a tough call, but valid move.
