well sorta...it is Matt Cooke hitting him from behind, which is the kinda shit we've come to know and expect from Cooke. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on this play because it didn't look like he meant to do that at all (maybe mush his face into the glass, but not cut him or anything). Were it most any other player in the league, the Sens and Neil would very likely not have responded in the slightest. But when you're an ******* like Cooke who ends careers and has no talent or integrity? That news gets around the league real quick and pretty soon most goons on most teams will beat your ass if you give em even half a chance. In the old days, he woulda got his LONNNNNG ago, but this is the new 'friendly' NHL where protecting your teammates is frowned upon.
Bottom line...the butt kicking Neil was poised to deliver is LONG overdue and the league only makes it worse by protecting a$$holes like this and punishing those who seek to take them to task. It is unbalanced and inappropriate IMO
