for the pending UFA Iginla and a conditional 2nd. If he re-signs in Pitts, Calgary gets their 2nd back.

We all know how the chemistry between Crosby and Iginla during international tournaments.

    Kunitz - Crosby - Iginla
    Dupuis/Boychuk - Malkin - Neal

    Fits under the cap too.

If you don't think it's enough for Iginla....add all the way up to a 1st. I think Pittsburgh should still do it.
iggy and crosby had no chemistry in the olympics, they just managed to work together for the winner. iggy is too slow to play with crosby, i doubt that would work. pens dont need a winger for him, crosby can play with just about anyone and make them better.

what they need is another puck moving dman in case letang goes down. the team can cope if one of sid/malkin goes down, the other usually picks up the slack. the team cant deal with losing letang.

You are all havin' a laugh if you think the Flyers future No. 2 center is going to be traded for Keith Yandle. Yandle is a good defensemen, but Philly isn't in a rush to go out and get him. In fact, as someone else here has mentioned and what I have stated before, if they didn't trade Coots for Weber, they probably aren't moving him at all.

Flyers have a ton of room if you take a look at who they can put on LTIR - as someone above me posted.

I can only see Philly trading for help on the wings or a solid enough d-man to remove Foster/Lilja/Gervais from contention. And even with that in mind, Gus and Bourdon are on the cusp of coming back so look for them to take over on a third pairing.

I still hope we land Ryan in the next year or two. The Ducks may want to keep Getz/Perry and if that's the case, I can certainly see them trading Ryan to give them some breathing room. If Perry wants out and the Ducks know they can't re-sign, I can see them shopping him with Philly trying to land him; but most teams will try.

Add in the injuries to Simmonds, Meszaros, etc and the fact that Giroux is not able to carry the team on his own and its been tough going for them.
now stfu and just piss off ok? you add nothing to any of these discussions

With Reimer out with his "minor" knee injury, I am just waiting for the Lou to T.O. rumors to start back up again.

Honestly I don't think the loss of Carle is that big a deal, he coughs up the puck just as much as he 'moves' it so its debatable how much his absence hurts the team. That said, he's durable and seldom missed games so they do need someone who can come in and fill those mins, I think letting him go was the smart move for the Flyers.

Meszaros is a different deal altogether, he is an excellent passer so as I noted him being out hurts them quite a bit.

With Fasth emerging in Anaheim, I think we may start hearing Hiller to T.O. rumours soon.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

There's a lot of trades that would make a lot of sense for both sides, and a lot of trades I'd love to see as a fan.

How many of those scenarios I actually expect to see is about zero though.

I'm also going to jump on the Philly-ragging bandwagon. I can understand changing the culture with Richards/Carter (though given their contracts, quality of player, etc. I was against both moves) but that JvR-Schenn one... LOL.

Perry to the Pens would be nice, I don't know if they have the pieces to make it work , but they do have the cap space to sign perry long term (pauses to look out window and dream of the epic Neal/Crosby/Perry/Malkin/Letang pp that would make). Morrow + Bennett + 1st?

Paul Stastny needs a change of scenery.. Winnipeg and Nashville would be suitable destinations as they could both provide the back end help Colorado desperately needs.

Agree, Stastny needs a change of scenery. I always thought that when O'Reilly eventually signs with Colorado, they would make Stastny available to trade. With the news yesterday, I don't see Stastny becoming available.

Yes but they still won't be as successful.

I will say that if Saskatoon ever got a NHL team they would have the most dedicated die hard fans in the league.

Maybe the best trading partner for the Phx is Colorado. The avs could use an offensive dman and have plenty of forwards to offer in exchange.
