Hmm ok our pool is based more on points and Goals are heavy on this pool does that help? Rep for a solid answer. It's tough moving a guy who is hot (Benn) for a guy who isn't so much (Kessel)

I would consider this, but probably wouldn't do it.

In a goal-heavy pool, Kessel definitely has extra value. 37 last year, after 32 the year before. He gets a tough rap, but he was a PPG guy last season on a crummy team. He can produce. Slow start this year, but he'll come around. And in this case, he's the only guy of the three who actually HAS hit that 80-point level.

But Benn is an absolute stud, though (I'm watching Dal-Ana as I write this, and he's just a fun guy to watch). And Seguin has the chance to be a pimp as well. Neither has put up the PPG that Kessel has done, but both should eventually do it. And I think both will be fairly solid goal-scorers, too.

If you made the deal, I wouldn't yell at you...but I personally prefer the Benn or Seguin side, as I think both have a slightly higher upside than Kessel. And both, in my mind, will hit it.

However, I'm also a fan of having players that I like in real-life. To me, that's part of the fun of being a fantasy GM. With that in mind, maybe its worth it for you to make the deal...because, again, I don't think it's a ridiculous deal to make.

Honestly, Reuben gave a near perfect answer.

However, I will add my two cents. If hits and PIMs are a factor, you have to go with Benn. If not, Kessel isn't far off...and honestly Kessel may score more goals. Plus, there's a chance Benn may lose his wing eligibility...which no doubt hurts his value.

Though I'm also a big fan of having your favourite players on your roster, I suggest you hold off until later this season. Benn is in that magical fourth year, and many people seem to be saying that he could explode this year. With Kessel, you know what you've got. Wait and see what you have in Benn. The trade for Kessel will still be there in the off season if you want it, and there's a damn good chance you'll be able to get more than one for one after Benn has a huge year with Jagr.

    Remember Giroux?
    10-team Keeper. Everyone keeps 12 + 1 G + 3 "young keepers" (players with less than 164 NHL games played), and 1G. Points for G (2), A (2), PIM (.2), Hit (.2), Blk (.2) SHP(1), W(4), SO(8) Must dress 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G

C - Crosby, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Eichel, Johansen
LW - E. Kane, Drouin, Schenn, Miller, Foligno, Zucker
RW - Wheeler, Stone, Lindholm, Oshie, Tolvanen
D - Karlsson, Carlson, Dumba, Nurse, Ceci, Pionk, Larsson, Montour
G - Murray, Quick, Koskinen, Blackwood, Georgiev

    Minors - Turcotte, Bouchard, Kaprizov

leafs fan here. I'd go with The Thrill over Seguin and Benn.

if you have an older team, Seguin may be a good way to go. I can see him performing pts wise similar to Kessel.

Kessel has improved every year. as far as im concerned hes ppg guy. what a microscope he is under, its unreal.

cant blame you for going Seguin if you do. Brampton stud

I think I would prefer to trade Seguin for Kessel over Benn for Kessel. Because you are a Leafs fan I would probably hang onto Kessel, because of the fact that they are all of near equal value, and goal heavy does give Kessel some more added incentive.
