I think even the biggest Blackhawks homer in the world wouldn't be that stupid lol.
Hey all, It's a one-year league and I've got a big Blackhawks fan trying to pry away my Toews...
He's offering his:
Kopitar and Iginla
For my:
Toews and B. Ryan
It's not a bad offer, but I don't quite like it...
Since he really want Toews, I'm thinking about countering with:
His: Giroux and Iginla for
My: Toews and D. Brown
Thoughts?!?

I doubt he would take that deal but who knows.
In my league, I drafted toews and one of the managers was a huge blackhawk fan.
I managed to trade toews + neal for tavares + rinne

And a deal was just struck!
I give:
Toews (C) and B. Ryan (LW)
I receive:
Giroux (C/RW) and Iginla (RW)
IMO, I'm feel sorta buying low on Giroux (if that's even possible). He can only go up, especially once Hartnell comes back from the foot injury, right? I also like that I strengthened the right-side, which I thought was weaker before the trade...

Wow great deal. I have the same feeling with Giroux. He's starting to play better so I'm feeling positive about him this season.

In a one-year league, I feel this deal is kind of a wash. Giroux may catch fire, but I think he scores about a PPG this year, which is what I expect from Toews. I also expect about the same amount of production from Iginla as I would from Ryan. I do appreciate the fact that you bought low on Giroux though, it's entirely possible he really turns it on and puts up top-5 numbers again this year.

This is what I was thinking. You can say "buy low, sell high" all you want, but the reality is that its a 48 games season, so you take the hot guys and dump the cold ones (of course, in Giroux's case, he's a worthwhile risk). I don't see Toews and Giroux as much different players, Giroux obviously with more PPG upside but Toews is just slightly worse, and should match (if not better) G's peripheral stats. I also think Ryan is a better option than Iggy in a one year league, which makes this deal a wash overall for me.
This (and Jenken's post) is pretty fair. Perhaps it is a different deal in this shortened season when compared to what it would be like in an 82 game schedule. Hot vs. cold has a bigger imprint on a sprint vs. a marathon.
Iggy and his possible trading to a contender near the deadline may also have an impact on whether this trade ends up being a wash or not. I pray he goes somewhere like Pittsburgh... Now that would be a jackpot, but I could only be so lucky!
