Default Need Help Quick: Shattenkirk for RNH

Points only league. Please see my team and league format in my sig.

At the beginning of the season I would've said this is a no brainer, but now I'm not so sure. I currently have 3 center spots in my league that I can start on any given night. Do you see RNH replacing Sedin, Backstrom, Koivu or Sharp (he's a C/W)? Shattenkirk is looking good so far but his production is bound to drop. I'm basically trying to do a buy low, sell high right now. It also helps that I can move up Kronwall and or Visnovsky (he should be back soon) into my 4th D slots.

Keep in mind that it's only a 6 team league and there are a lot of FAs out there including Ribiero, Hodgson, Galchenyuk, etc. I basically want RNH because of his potential on the Oilers top line and the possibility to keep him.

    Opinions?

Commodity for commodity. As a Shattenkirk owner, I would consider this, especially with a straight points league. In mine, Shatts is too valuable.

You'd be buying low on RNH, but giving up a quality d-man. Hope Markov stays healthy. Hell you've got to hope RNH stays healthy.

    Stay with Shatts.

I think you gotta go with Shattenkirk. Your depth in your defense positions is more valuable as you have to start 4 D, where you start 7 forwards. Having stronger offensive output from your D overrules you gaining a marginal edge in production from your C, as Koivu, Backstrom, Sedin are all as good or better than RNH.

According to reports it's just general soreness so I'm not too worried about it...

Wow, I'm surprised that everyone so far is leaning in the Shattenkirk direction. I definitely thought there would be more RNH fans out there lol.

I'm on the fence still. If this were a regular 82 game season, I would think that Shattenkirk get around 45-50 pts this year and RNH maybe 70. Am I crazy to think that RNH will get 80 or more next year? For some reason I can only see the Oilers top line getting better and better...

I agree with ianinnis that depth at D is important, but even if Markov goes down, don't you think Visnovsky will be able to match the same output as him or Shattenkirk moving forward?

    I'm stuck...
