Bryzgalov unless things go really south for him, he's going to be the guy in Philly for a long time, and personally I don't think Philly are ever going to be out of the playoff hunt while Bryzgalov is there. Bryzgalov hasn't shown to be nearly as injury prone as Lehtonen over their respective careers, and I think Bryzgalov will start more games every year over Lehtonen.

Little. Both goalies are as good as they are ever gonna get, neither one of them are going to get any better in terms of talent. Lehtonen has the advantage of being younger and probably having a few more good years in him over Bryzgalov, but Bryzgalov still has I would imagine 3+ years of still being Bryzgalov, and to me that's easily enough to justify taking him over Lethonen.

Non factor. Good goalies plays well into their late 30's. i like the flyers better in the short run.

    I prefer Bryz.
It's team related, Philly just has a stronger overall defensive team and more likelihood of wins.
They are also more likely to have a strong team because they will spend to the cap limit.
You have to consider that in keeper leagues.

    By categories:
    Wins: Bryz
    GAA: Bryz
SV%: Lehtonen (the better skilled goalie)
    SO: Even

In leagues that count "saves", I may consider Lehtonen based on the pure volumne of shots that Lehtonen will face by playing behind a crappy defensive team.

I'd take Bryzgalov. He has a healthier past and his team never holds back on making a move to improve the roster. Plus imagine how crazy his stats will be when the team gets their act together considering how good he has been despite the Flyers playing poorly to date.

I'm taking Lehtonen, especially if salary factors in. Philly is a very tough place for goalies, period. Lehtonen has only had the occasional minor injury the last three years and he's posting numbers that are consistently in the upper half of the league, with a terrible D core in front of him. So those numbers still have room to improve and I think Dallas is destined to win more games with both Lehtonen and Jamie Benn as cornerstones.

Moreover, Bryz has never posted a full season of solid stats away from Phoenix. And keep in mind that the Coyotes have made Mike Smith look like a damned legend before you reply to that.

I laughed too when I first read it. But in this case, this might very well be true.

Ha! I agree. Philly's overall D has been tough to watch this year.

    But Dallas' D is atrocious.
They are 2nd worst in the NHL in giving up shots per game.
And they have been outshot in EVERY game this season, 11 of 11.
Lehtonen is saving their butts!!! (but that usually doesn't last forever)
