Default Rinne vs STL or Pavelec vs FLA

    Hey guys,

Trying to figure out who to start. I always default Rinne as he's my stud BUT Pavelec is playing a weak FLA team. I'm a little concerned though as last time this happened, I played Pavelec and he let in 5 goals and lost the game while Rinne won against LA.

Should this be a lesson learned or do I roll the dice on Pavelec bouncing back?

FLA is as healthy as they've been all year and have won 2 in a row as a result. In addition WPG is missing the physical presence of Byfuglien. Some might argue this makes them a better team defensively...I'm not sure.

Either way I think Rinne is the stud to ride. NAS beat SJ just a few days ago if memory serves correctly so they're playing better team D anyway...and Halak isn't in G for STL.

It's a gamble either way...weak team vs. weak team or defensive system vs. Hitch.

It's hard to ever recommend sitting Rinne, but I have him in my pool, too, and I will be sitting him tonight. I haven't been thrilled with Nashville's start, and I've been burned when I've played Rinne so far this season. STL has been lights out at home both last year and this year, and that's my prime reason for sitting Rinne, truthfully.

ak's right, the Jets are not a better defensive team without Buff. He does so much for the team at both ends of the ice that when he's out of the lineup you really notice it.

The wise choice is to play Rinne. That said, I feel better about the Jets getting a win at home than I do about Nashville winning in St. Louis.

I just overheard that Clemmensen is playing for FLA, so that helps Pavs' cause a bit.

I would sit Rinne. St.L. is one of those teams that can light you up!! We all know Nsh is offensively challenged and Elliott can be as good as they come. I don't like Rinne's odds of winning tonight.

Wpg has been struggling, but they will be home. I think all hands will be on deck to protect Pavs. I think Pavelec will have a bounce back game tonight.

The only thing I want to add is my reasoning for going with Rinne.

I draft my 'stud' goalies for a reason. I'm not saying Pavelec is a poor goalie by any means, he is actually a favourite of mine. It's just to me I'd feel a lot worse benching the guy that I invested so much in if he were to have a good game, as opposed to benching the guy I drafted later and he were to have a good game.

Plus your studs are supposed to be your more consistent guys.

My two cents. Good luck with whichever decision you make.

Went with Rinne. Sweating a little bit as I knew about Clemmenson too but we'll see. 50/50 odds it sounds like.
