by all means , pick up fasth if he's sitting there and you only have to drop a srub .
but I wouldnt advise dropping hiller , kipper etc...for him .

I own Hiller so I'm just going to wait out the speed bump even if it lasts the season .
Call me a lemming if you will but I am certainly enjoying Fasth's numbers.

Had to drop N Foligno for him in one league and slide Landeskog onto IR in another so not much of a sacrifice.

Now of course is the great debate - when to sell?

Ok weekly lineups due tonight, but since I work, I will have to set by 6:30 pm Thursday. Anaheim has 3 starts this week 1 back to back. Do you start Fasth or Hiller for the week?

I decided to pull the trigger when Boudreau was quoted that Hiller is the guy but it's nice what Fasth is doing, something along those lines. I'm a huge Fasth fan but my concerns are that he'll have to bide his time to be a starter in the NHL, Hiller is signed for another year and the goalie market is so flooded in the NHL.

I packaged him with Kulemin for Skinner in a 30 team dynasty league yesterday

That is an excellent deal for you. You could not have pulled this off a few days ago and probably won't be able to in a couple of weeks.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

In those leagues, the starting budget is $100.

So multiply by 150/100 and you should be bidding about 30+ WW points.
It also depends on scarcity of goalies in your league.

And I can guarantee that the Hiller owner is going to be bidding a LOT!

I'm proud to say(or "Dumb luck") that I actually drafted Fasth in Prospect/FA draft this offseason with this exact scenario that's unfolding.

-Worst case scenario is that Hiller wins his next few starts and Ducks respond with a 70/30 split of starts....I then have a great handcuff in Fasth.

-Best case scenario is that Fasth continues to put up great numbers forcing BB to play the "hot hand" and Hiller sees spot duty....I can handle this for this year, but what if next year Hiller's traded to another team and Fasth then becomes #1?

Would I now have 2 #1's? Wouldn't Hiller look good in say NJ, WSH(trade off Neuvirth at Draft), NYI, MIN?

I was thinking a bid of $35 when I first saw this post. Glad to see the math seems to support that thought.

as well as he is playing, politics and money play harder ... what I mean is... (as many eluded to)... Hiller is #1... paid as such and will remain as such.

At the worst... he splits 5050, more like a 70/30 (if Fasth continues hot).

    Think Elliot/Halak. Luongo/Schneider... etc.

YOU BAUGHT LOW, NOW SELL HIGH MY FRIENDS!...

This is where i traded Elliot+3rd lastyear for Halak+1st. Play the situation properly. You want to win LONG TERM, not just this week...

Maybe I am a hater but there is a reason this guy is a 30 year old rookie. Let him string some starts together and move him before teams get a 2nd and 3rd shot at him.

I drafted Hiller in a keeper league, and I am not terribly concerned. In a one year league I'd likely be a little more perturbed by the loss of starts, and I may be in the minority here, but I think this could help Hiller's value moving forward. He has had a couple of tough post-vertigo seasons where he was over-worked and had little competetition for the starting job......as a result he put up mediocre percentages at best. I drafted him as my third goalie in my keeper league as his mail value lies in volume (we have total saves as a category), and although this loss of volume is irritating in the short tearm, I think that more competition, rest, and a winning team in front of him can vastly improve the quality of starts and his %'s. I think this will light a fire under Hiller, and when the Fasch inevitably falters, Hiller will string together some strong starts and become the unquestioned starter again. He will have a very capable back-up behind him pushing him for playing time, so he will get more games off than in past years, but I firmly believe we will see a big improvement in Hiller's stats/play moving forward.

Way, way off base here. He was killing overseas and I heard his name mentioned back in 2011 (as potentially being signed or looked into by NHL teams). He's absolutely got above average starter potential with his reflexes, vision and cool demeanor under heavy fire.

Hiller finally got a start tonight and he gave up 2 goals in the first period and hurt himself. Fasth has since take over to. Start the 2nd.
