I have Neuvirth and I'm waiting to see who starts tonight for the Leafs. If Holtby starts I'm making the move for Fasth if Neuvirth starts I'll probably drop him after the game unless he dominates the Leafs.

Think I'm going to add him later in the week, assuming my 2 game tryout for Diaz to stay on the roster goes the way I think it will (no points).

I wouldn't be surprised to see Fasth take over a 1A role if things hold to form. Boudreau has shown no inclination to favor a golden horse in the past. As long as the Ducks are in the playoff hunt, he'll only be interested in winning. So, if the Ducks keep winning and Fasth continues to seriously outplay Hiller, I think he'll start to see more starts... maybe 3 starts every 5 games, or so.

Who would you rather have as a no.3 goalie this year (possibly next year too)? Hiller or Fasth?
Already have Brodeur, Quick, Lehner and Markstrom.

I'm with you there. I think the next 3 or 4 games will likely determine how much time Fasth sees for the rest of the season. If Fasth starts 2 of those next 4 and is lights out while Hiller sucks, he'll probably be given first crack the next couple of weeks at least.

This is the article that put me on to Fasth:

Totally stoked for the early pickup.
He's going to steal starts this year and he's a FA in July.

Would you drop Kipper now that he's DTD with a likely groin pull? Asking for a friend...

leftwinglock has Fasth as probable tonight against the Avs with a twitter comment that he was off the ice first. If Fasth does start tonight he's officially stealing starts from Hiller in my mind.

If this is your plan then you better pull it off super quick. Fasth is starting again tonight. He won't be available in most leagues soon.

I'd like to say that I'm the smartest guy in the room for taking him the day he signed an NHL contract. However it has been a bit of luck. Hiller has been crappy, plus Boudreau coaching is a gigantic plus for Fasth. He's been known to run with the hot hand in goal since he coached his first NHL game.

I'm thinking that his sell high window might come in the next week or two for a dynasty league since once he runs cold, Hiller will take back over for a little while.

Fasth got snatched in one of my leagues today.

Agreed with the sentiment above...the window is closing rapidly. My main league is with a bunch of buddies who don't really know as much as the average DH user here and he was already snagged.

The thing that I've noticed is that the Ducks play better in front of Fasth than Hiller. But that's not intended to discredit Fasth, it's a huge compliment. The D plays more relaxed, so they don't overchase and are confident, knowing their G is going to stop almost all of what he should and most of what he shouldn't.

He plays calmly, so the D does too. I've only ever seen this a few times with goalies in their first NHL season in the 22+ years I've been watching hockey.

This is dead on. Boudreau likes playing the hot hand, and if the goalies are both hot he will rotate them game to game. He definitely did this in Washington with Theodore/Valry and Varly/Neuvi. If tonight isn't the start of a string of back to back starts, it is only a matter of a few more sub-par games from Hiller for it to happen.

I picked up Fasth last week in my ESPN league and grabbed him this morning for my Yahoo league. So far so good, and with my other two goalies in my ESPN league being Brodeur and Ward, it is nice to be able to bench Ward for a bit while he tries to pull it together.
