Default Ovie, Erickson for Tarasenko, Kopitar

    Hi guys,

I have just been offered :

Ovie and L. Ericksson for my Kopitar and Tarasenko. Format: points only and no positions (C, LW, RW). Only forward poisition.

What do you guys think? Should i pull the trigger?

    Thank you,

I think I would. I own Kopitar and he and his team are driving me nuts by rarely scoring (with the exception of last game against the Ducks). They're a defensive team and their PP has always struggled.
Someone made an interesting point about Tarasenko. While he no doubt will be a stud in the future and is off to a great start, if he falters and goes on a cold streak (which as a rookie you would think he might) he could be buried in the deep forward strength of St. Louis. You'd definitely be selling high on him and buying low on Ovi.
Eriksson is about as reliable as it gets. He's struggling a bit this season but he's put up 70+ points the last three season with nice PP numbers. He stands to benefit ALOT by a growing up Benn and Jagr and Whitney joining the party.

I'd do it. I don't know if Ovi will ever get back up to 65 goals, I dont think anyone does. But he's just too good (and surrounded by solid talent) to struggle for the rest of his career.

    just a note:
tarasenko is ranked seventh on the blues for icetime amoungst forwards.
he isn't ever going to fall below that on the depth charts...

AO, Eriksson for me. Eriksson is basically Kopitar without the fancy name, atleast as long as Sutter is coaching.

I agree with Marwin. Eriksson = Kopitar, so its trading Tarasenko to get Ovechkin. I would accept this deal.

Just a note, Eriksson was pulled off of Benn's line today and he isn't on PP1 with him or Jagr either. I'm not sure how long this will last but I have him and Ovie in my pool and they're driving me nuts. If someone offered me Tarasenko and Kopitar for them I'd take it...

Give me Ovechkin and Eriksson. Tarasenko is great, but to me isn't worth an Ovechkin or even an Eriksson at the moment. Personally I wouldn't move Ovechkin in a one for one swap with Kopitar.

Eriksson is one of the most consistent fantasy players in the NHL. His stats for the past three years are almost identical. Trading him and Ovechkin away for a quick fix is extremely short sighted in my opinion.

Eriksson's value is lower in leagues that have a few peripheral stats, but in a points only league, he is a top 20 fantasy player.

Yep - I'll take Ovechkin and Eriksson quite easily. I don't even need to know more info (e.g. roster, keepers etc).
