I'd do that right away. Varlamov is the uncontested number 1 on his team. His play has been hit and miss so far but when he's on, he's on.
An owner in my league has just dropped Varly for Vokoun. I think it is a no brained , but, do I drop Neuvirth for Varlamov?

That's my opinion as well.
Waiver priority is something that is (IMO) probably wasted the most in fantasy hockey (in leagues that use priority and not FAAB)
I've seen owners hang on to their #1 waiver priority all year as the #2/3/4/5 priority owners use their claims on dropped players. To me it seems like there is a false sense of 'someone better will come along'.
I'd rather use the priority on a guy who can help my team now than hope for the chance that another GM will be dumb enough to drop someone better lol.
The #4 priority isn't even that good. You may not even get him. All it takes is one smart GM to snatch him up of the three guys ahead of you on that list.
Using the waiver #4 waiver claim is the right move, Varlamov is a definite upgrade over Neuvirth, especially considering Neuvirth is in a time share with Holtby. The way things have gone this season Colorado looks a lot better than Washington, so there's another minor plus.
