    Default Going price for backstrom

I've been "offered" backstrom. Will he bounce back? What's good value. Team and rules in my sig. Backstrom is $42 but his contract expires this year.

Meaning...Backstrom will cost even more next season? His value is climbing back up as we speak [he's potted a goal and a helper tonight against PHI].

I think he's a top 5 C in the Eastern Conf. [unusual pool parameters] so I'd definitely consider making a pitch for him. Are you trying to win this year or not?

Personally, I'd have no trouble trading E. Staal straight up for Backstrom and consider myself to have won the trade [that would be roughly equal financially]. Is the other GM high on any particular prospects? I suspect being willing to throw the super-hot, cost-effective Conacher into a deal would really sweeten the pot from the other GM's perspective.
    10 Team [keep 10 + 4 prospects]

It means he just gets thrown back into the ring and would be available to all bidders. Whereas I could keep conacher or Staal at their current prices. So they may arguably hold more value

And I'm tied for first so trying to make a run

So nobody can keep Backstrom over the summer, right? I also assume then that the other GM is clearly not in the running and looking to improve heading into next year, right?

Who are value-priced players of yours that he could keep into next year. He won't get full value for a rental even if it is a big-name player. Turris' value is up a bit. Would he consider Turris + a high pick? Admittedly this is probably a low-ball, but it never hurts to try. Assuming that fails I'm thinking Galchenyuk [or a player like that] would have to be included.
