    Default Horton or Stafford

Salary league that counts real salaries and uses almost every scoring cat out there. Which player would you prefer assuming Stafford would cost $4 mil and Horton costs $5.5 mil. Right now both players are relatively comparable but Horton cost a bit more. I think I'm second guessing myself but wanted to hear someone else's opinion. Thanks.

Im in a larger league with a somewhat similar structure. Team and league in sig.

Regardless, of the extra money, I would rather have Horton. I've watched a lot of Bruins early on and Horton looks 100%. He plays on a better line with Lucic and Krejci. And, I just think Horton at his best is more productive than Stafford.

Both of these players are good all round performers. Both shoot lots and log decent minutes. Stafford actually plays close to 20 minutes a night b/c he also kills penalties...something Horton isn't used for. All things being equal I kind of figure these guys to be about the same except in the points category. I think Horton is roughly a 60 point player [the way BOS rolls 2 lines it'll be near impossible for him to better this by more than 5] and I believe Stafford is a 50 point player [with about 5 point upside beyond that if his even strength line would develop more chemistry].

Is the money an issue for you b/c if it is Stafford's 50 points at 4 million dollars is costing you less per point than Horton's 60 at 5.5m. I might add, what are your aspirations towards contending this season? Horton and BOS look poised to take another run while BUF is struggling a bit so I would certainly prefer Horton if I was looking to win this year.

I like both of these guys and they both have talent to be 70 point wingers. With Horton the question is his health and with Stafford whether he can find the needed consistency in his game. I find him a bit streaky - atleast his offensive production.

I think Horton is a bit more talented and has proven more so far. If you have the cap space, I'd give edge to Horton. If you're tight on cap space, Stafford is the way to go.

I'd side with Horton, he has been geting prime PP minutes and has looked good so far this season. Stafford has shown flashes but his problem is consistency. I also prefer Horton's linemates and supporting cast to Stafford's.
