Default Neal? Still Top 10? Buy Low?

    Offer on the table

    Neal, Roy and Garison
    for
    Clowe, Phaneuf and Andy McDonald

Decent sell high on Clowe and McDonald? Leverage Phaneuf's past value (in hopes to slide OEL into Phaneuf's spot along side Doughty, Edler and maybe Smith?

    Pittsburgh is in a funk.
    They'll shake it.

I'd take the Neal side immediately.

i assume you are offering this deal it isnt being offered to you

i dont see how 6 games makes a player a buy low candidate all of a sudden when the entire team is struggling personally

plus he does have 4 goals its not like he is putting up ovechkin numbers

Here's the back ground. He made an offer to me last night.
    Neal and Howard
    for
    Tavares and Bryz.

Naturally I declined the offer. I know he made an offer to another GM this morning.
    Neal and Garison
    for
    Lucic and Leddy
(I told this GM who confided in me to take the deal...he hasn't yet.)

So...Given how hot Clowe is and his team...throw in an equally hot MacDonald (neither of whom will be kept for me) and help him upgrade his D with Phaneuf who's struggling but capable of top 10 D fan points,

If he accepts...then I feel I'm selling high on Clowe and MacD...breaking even on Phaneuf ... and therefore buying Low on NEAL. Having made 2 offers in 12 hours, there's gotta be a reason for him wanting to move Neal. Why not benefit. (P.S. This is the Same GM that I was able to acquire Tavares for Dubinsky straight up...and Lost neal to last year when I acquired Ovechkin).

Wow, if that second offer he made to the other GM is accurate he's undervaluing Neal bigtime - get in there and take advantage if you can!

    My thoughts exactly!

And with all the hype surrounding the Sharks...and Clowe being a part of that...mostly because of his 37Pim game a couple back...and MacD who's cooled, but still plays at or near PPG pace when he's healthy, and sending a struggling but quality D in Phaneuf...may be just enough to get him to bite.

We'll see. I don't have much invested here. Truth be told...I would have to make another move as this will give me one to many LW or RW or UTIL. But nice problem to have.

Banter back and forth...original offer rejected (surprise surprise).

Leveraing Clowe's recent surge and the fact he's a line mate of Couture (who he owns already).

Clowe, Voracek and his choice of Phaneuf or Brendan Smith (Depending on if he wants a Vet or a Prospect)
    for
Neal, Wideman and a player to be named (his choice).

Really it's only NEAL that I'm interested in, and Not affraid to pay A slumping Phaneuf and an overachieving Clowe, given who I currently have on my team. I have lost interest in Voracek.

Smith or Phaneuf are my 4th defender
Clowe will not be kept this year

And I still have 2 waiver grabs (as I watch guys like Diaz and Salo or Johnson(Pho) or wait for a late season call up.....

    Thoughts?

Fantastic deal for you. perosnally I think Wideman is a nice add on and I would do the deal without him even being a part of it, same thing applies with the unknown player.

So your keepers change from Phaneuf to Neal? Sounds good to me. Or do you have to keep 4 D? If that is the case then you improve with Neal over Carter and slide Wideman or Smith into your 4th D spot. Looks like a good trade to me.

Your team looks pretty pretty solid and the loss of Clowe, Voracek and 4th D will also look neglible towards going for it this season as well.

    Deal Dead.

    Neal traded to another GM.

Neal, Marchand and Garisson (and a 3rd rounder)
    for
Lucici, Skinner and Leddy (and a 5th rounder).

So who won that trade? or fairly balanced.

My guess, the guy receiving Neal (and the upgraded pick) is a smooth talking salesman and sold the guys he was moving better then the other GM. Whatever he was selling, the other guy was obviously buying.
