    Default Kipper for Conacher

League has regular cats (G,A,+/-,PPP,SHP,GWG, 3 points for a win, 3 more for a shutout)

Was just offered Kipper for Conacher. Good deal for me?

Nah. Kipper seems to be out of form this season along with all the other Flames. Keep the offer available until tonight though as Hudler and Cervenka seem to be returning. See how that affects the team and move from there.

Easy accept for me. Kipper over Conacher, easy choice in a one year league.

How many teams...how many goalies do you start...who are your current goalies?..

Hard to find a scenario where I wouldn't pull the trigger though. Talk about buying low and selling high.

Agreed. Need to know more about the league. Just as an example, in my league where we start one goalie, and we protect 13 of our 27 players, this trade would NEVER happen. Kipper is on the way down, the Flames stink this year (Kipper would be lucky to get 20 wins) and at least early on, Conacher seems like the real deal.

Assuming it's an one-year league (as it is in this forum), unless there are some ridiculous proportion (like 15 forwards per team, 1 goalie) I can't see how Conacher is more valuable than Kipper this season.

Exactly...which is why I agreed with bondon. Can't imagine too many scenarios when that trigger wouldn't be pulled. There are some scenarios though, where that deal wouldn't be so obvious.

I do assume it's only a 1 year league, but I'd still like to know who his current goalies are, how deep is he on the wing, and even more about the other GM. Why does the other GM want a winger? Why is he willing to give away Kipper.

    I took the trade.

The league has 9 forward slots, 4 D slots, and 2 goalie slots. It's a 10 team league. He had four goalies (Backstrom, Smith, Dubnyk and Kipper).

I had Ward, Reimer and Holtby. With Kipper, I dropped Holtby.

    Full team is now:

FWD: Stamkos, Kopitar, Gaborik, Nash, Hossa, Iginla, M. Richards, Alfredsson, Elias, Burrows, Huberdeau, Tanguay, Henrique (IR)
D: Letang, Chara, Hamhuis, Del Zotto
    G: Ward, Kipper, Reimer

Well done! With a team as solid as yours at Fwd, that was indeed a no brainer.

    Good luck!
