tell him to check the boxscore of the washington game tonight
tell him yesterday was the time to buy low on mike green not today
Hi everyone...
I am in a pts only league and have been offered:
His Drew Doughty
11th round pick
12th round pick
January waiver pick
for
My Mike Green, WSH
1st round pick
2nd round pick
I currently own:
Markov, MTL
Green, WSH
Fowler, ANA
Hamilton, BOS
Faulk, CAR
on defence.
I like Doughty quite a bit, but not sure if the offset in draft picks is worth the difference in changing defensemen.
This is a 24 team fantasy league.
Effectively, if i were to make this deal, I would be left with no 1st rd pick but still have another GM's 2nd round pick through to the 12th round picks.
Is the difference between the two dmen substantial enough to justify moving my 2 high draft picks for his worst two.
thanks gentlemen!!
tell him to check the boxscore of the washington game tonight
tell him yesterday was the time to buy low on mike green not today
actually he had 1 goal and 1 assist tonight
but yeah tell him he is late to the buy mike green low party
Rep to that answer. That would be a hilarious way to respond to the offer.
Mike Green is 27 years old, and has put together 2 70 point seasons. Players that can do that, twice, don't just forget how. Perhaps I'm a little biased because I have him on my team, but I'd say the first 3 games of a wonky season is not enough time to give up on Green. (As tempting as it is because of last year).
While I recognize that most people would take Doughty over Green, giving up your first and second is too steep. You should be able to do better than that.
10-team Keeper. Everyone keeps 12 + 1 G + 3 "young keepers" (players with less than 164 NHL games played), and 1G. Points for G (2), A (2), PIM (.2), Hit (.2), Blk (.2) SHP(1), W(4), SO(8) Must dress 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G
C - Crosby, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Eichel, Johansen
LW - E. Kane, Drouin, Schenn, Miller, Foligno, Zucker

D - Karlsson, Carlson, Dumba, Nurse, Ceci, Pionk, Larsson, Montour

Maybe Green is finally not hurt, and can get back to his scoring ways.

Hey IceMiners
NO WAY
First, we both know that this owner tries this stuff all the time. No way the draft picks should even be in there. Doughty was beast in the playoffs but I don't think there is much of a point difference between them in the regular season. The points (until tonight) have not been there but look at the other numbers...
ES TOI/Game: 17:24 PP TOI/Game: 7:14
Total Ice time in the first 4 games --> 27, 27, 25, 31 minutes
He plays almost half the game. When Washington breaks out of this little funk then watch out. Its only a matter of time.
The only picks I would include are maybe a swap of mid-rounders to offset the fact that Green is a bit of a band-aid. You know the owner has seen these stats and is trying to steal him in search of the first round picks he accumulates year after year. (OK no more bashing)
Points only pool - H2H - Dress 11/week - 2 at every forward position(RW, LW, C), 4 D, 1G
Goalie Points = 2/win, 1/overtime loss, 3 more/shutout (They typically make up most of the top 10 point getters every year in our league)
24 teams but 2 of every player (2 Crosbys, 2 Rasks, etc.) so treat it like a 12 team.
PROTECT 11 (max. roster size is 25)
LW - Benn, Pacioretty, Henrique, Abdelkader, Pulkkinen
C - Tavares, Backstrom, Johansen
RW - Giroux, Wheeler, Donskoi, Pomminville, Silvferberg
D - Josi, Karlsson, Burns, Seabrook, Reilly, Gardiner,
G - Jones, Rinne, Miller
thanks guys...
i probably shouldn't have even published this post, but a little voice inside told me to get an experts' opinion!
thanks guys--i guess your gut feel is never usually wrong.
cheers,
