Exclamation Take a step back and chill

I've been seeing loooooaaaaads of posts and comments, even by whoever was writing the ramblings one day, that "player X is underperforming, should I drop him?" or something to that effect.

"It's been two games and X hasn't done squat."

People, it's a shortened season. No team had a proper training camp. Many players didn't play any any meaningful games and those who did didn't play a full NHL schedule tempo. Players are bound to have weird starts and it doesn't mean that the sky is falling. Don't drop your drafted guys within a week of the season starting. Two games without a point isn't even a proper cold streak in a normal season.

    Chill
    GO WINGS!

I think the forums are a good place for people to try to work out their concerns.
People like to have their own individual threads to discuss them.

There are a lot of players that have hot-starts and grabbing those guys often coincide with (over?)analyzing a player that has a cold-start.
I think it's a fair concern for anybody to want to discuss dropping a seemingly cold-player.

I remember the Halak threads from a year ago. But this year the NHL hype around the shorter season has taken a life of its own. The schedule is shorter but it's not like the season is 10 games. People are panicking after one period.

But Tarasenko had 5 points in his first 2 games!!! That's a pace of 205 points over the course of a full season! Clearly he's the real deal. We should drop all our studs to pick him up ASAP.

Tarasenko is good but Winnik is your man. He should break a goal per game this season.

I liked Ross Youngblood's tweet about Tarasenko's PPG averages after two games.

Great sample size to create averages out of moron.

These are the 90% of people who dont win their pools.

There are guys that slip through the cracks and don't get drafted.
Once they show something the window of opportunity is short and in a keeper league may not come around again soon.
I don't believe anyone is dropping a Crosby for a Tarasenko.
The likely case is someone is dropping another prospect or average player for a chance at something much greater.
I am also of the belief that the really good ones show signs of something special early on.
The forum is used to help us all to check value and to sometimes steady the course.
We should not discourage the free thoughts and suppress people from expressing by calling them moron.
You have all provided me sound advice over the years let's try to stay positive and constructive.

    Now how about that Conacher?
