Default Pick up Steve Mason for tonight?

He's getting the start tonight in Phoenix. Is he worth a shot?

I'm very cautiously optimistic about Mason this season, mostly because I picked him up cheap last summer in my league so I'm hoping he can pick it up a bit. I've read that he's taking this year a little more seriously and with a legit goalie sharing the crease in Columbus maybe Mason realizes it's time to pick his game up before he Jim Carrey's out of the NHL.

To actually answer your question, I think he might be a safe play tonight against Phoenix but I wouldn't go out of my way to grab him and start him. If he's on your roster, and you need a goalie start go for it but I wouldn't go streaming for him.

If you have unlimited roster moves, and a guy you feel like you can let go, then why not? Every once in awhile I do the same thing, I add a back up that I know is starting, and play him for a game and proceed to drop him.
