    Default Niskanen or Tyutin?

I could use a depth D, and both these guys are on the wire. I could also look at brewer, Lydman or Kostka, but whoever it is probably won't be kept after this year

I am a Pens fan so take that as you will, but my vote goes to Niskanen. The guy was virtually Pittsburgh's only defenseman to play well in last season's playoff series, and he's getting time on the top pairing with Letang since Martin and Orpik have been playing together this year.

Despres has seen time with Letang too, but Niskanen has looked much better IMO. He's also on the second PP unit.

Assuming you're using the categories in your signature, Niskanen's +/- should be miles better than Tyutin's simply because of their respective teams. SOG and PIM should be comparable, but Niskanen has the better overall upside if he sticks with Letang.

I would want Niskanen. With Crosby and Malkin on the team and playing big minutes, he will find ways to put up points, playing second PP doesn't hurt matters.

Another vote for Niskanen. Bound to get a few passes up to Sid, Geno and Neal.
