bump. Schultz looks pretty slick out there tonight.

My team:
FWD: Zetterberg, B. Richards, Marleau, RNH, Eriksson, Kesler, Simmonds, Downie, N. Foligno, Hodgson, Brunner, Baertschi, Grigorenko, Kassian
D: Yandle, Green, Shattenkirk, Burns, Carle
G: Lindback, Theodore, Markstrom
I'm talking to the owner of Schultz as I'm both interested in acquiring him and getting my team as a whole younger as I really don't have a strong enough team to compete this year.
I can do one of the following:
Zetterberg for:
JVR + Schultz
Havlat + Schultz
I'll say a few things with my experience in this league through offers sent/received + discussions (1) no one wants to move a goalie for anything but obscene overpayment so I am likely to need to wait for Markstrom or hope to get lucky with a waiver pickup (2) extracting young players is like pulling teeth (3) people seem hesitant to take anyone >30 years of age even if it makes them more competitive in the short term.
As far as the trade goes - I still see Zetterberg as ~PPG player for a few seasons. That being said, Schultz has the team around him to be the next Green. Don't see Karlsson upside with him, but he should a great offensive dman for years to come.
JVR has upside but who knows. Havlat is older, but if he stays healthy (which he did for 3 years prior to last season in SJ), he should still be a very productive player for a couple of years.
Am I getting enough back? I don't think I can get anything more from him frankly unless it is a shitty draft pick swap.

If anything, I'd take the first one. I can't see you winning very soon with those goaltenders and JVR > Havlat by the time Markstrom develops. You might be able to squeeze a little bit more value out of Zetterberg than this but Schultz is going to be a huge asset, especially once that Oilers team starts firing on all cylinders.

In a keeper this is probably the cheapest you will be able to get Schultz at, and with your team you probably won't be able to contend this year with Zetterberg so he's expendable. I like Havlat over JVR for the first year of the trade, but because I don't feel like this year is has importance in this trade, I would want JVR over Havlat. If you could get something else instead of JVR that would be cool, same thing applies if you could get a pick tacted on.
neither one . for zetterberg i as k more
