    Default Neal for Rask

Just got an offer of my Neal for his Rask.

I like the value here and getting a solid tandem in net to keep going forward is something I have been trying to do for a while. However, I have 4 solid goaltending options right now, especially if Luongo gets moved. I am trying to send a goalie away as we speak to open up a spot for Rask.

    Thoughts on the deal?

Team and league info. in sig. We have 5 years remaining in the league as we just decided to extend.

Can't pair up one of your tenders with a winger to snag an upgrade rather than dealing Neal? Rask is looking good but it is first year with all eyes on him.

On the face of it, it's not a bad deal. However, I'm not sure in your situation that it's a good move. I feel like you're losing more at LW than you're gaining in Goal. Like you mention, you have strong goaltending already, so having 5 keepers doesn't have much upside (you're not going to be able to use them all and won't be able to get the full value out of each of them). You mentioned that you're trying to move one of your other keepers, so I think it really depends on being able to first move one of your goalies and assessing what you'd be getting in return there. If you could make that deal first, it would essentially be:

Gain: Rask + whatever you get for one of your goalies
Lose: Neal + one of your goalies

    GOALIE: W(2), GA(-1.5), Saves(0.3), SO(3)

I was thinking something like Luongo for Heatley.

So essentially Luongo + Neal for Rask and Heatley

I don't love that deal on its own. But if you were able to move Luongo for Heatley, I wouldn't mind it at all. Definitely don't make that deal until you know you can deal one of your current goaltenders in a deal you like.

I still like the Lou + Neal side better than Rask + Heatley. However, if you don't consider Neal one of your forward keepers, then I don't mind the deal as much. It's a small sample, but it looks like Heatley and Parise may have some good chemistry in Minnesota, so Heatley could be in line for a bounce back year.
