Default Goalies to avoid this year.

    1. Jon Quick

    2. Ilya Bryzgalov

    3. Semyon Varlamov.

    Why?

    Because I just drafted them.

    You have been warned.

At this point I'm not sure why that monkey is shocked. It's become proven fact.

I'd avoid two of those goalies anyways... Bryzgalov however, is a can't miss

    Oh no you didn't.
Bryz & Varly are my two goalies in the weekly-roster-set DobberEntry league.

I will say this... I don't own Lundy/Rinne/Quick in ANY of my 8 leagues.

    Haha, very true!

He did make me laugh though

I could avoid Bryz and Varly (I do think they will be good though), but Quick is a lock-in for another stellar year IMO.

Haha, Horrorfan has both of those guys as well in the Rocky Horror league.

I really hope that you guys are onto something that can turn my fortunes around. Otherwise all of our goaltending is ****ed this year lol.

How much money will it take to get you to trade Quick away? I own him in one league and I really don't want to move him.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

    As a serious change-of-discussion:
Three goalies that I expect to actually be "bad" this year:

    1. Kari Lehtonen. The Dallas defense stinks.
    2. Craig Anderson. The Ottawa defense stinks.
    3. Evgeni Nabokov. The Islanders defense stinks.

It is unfortunate that I own Anderson & Nabokov in a couple leagues.
Really was hoping the defense was going to be better on those teams.
    Yeesh.

I've actually been trying to trade Bryzgalov for Halak, and then flip Halak to the Elliott owner for Lehtonen. This post gives me pause. Is Dallas' D any worse off than last year?

They were not good last year.

Dallas has traded away Grossman to PHI last year.
They also traded away Fistric to EDM recently and Pardy to BUF in the off-season.
    Souray left for ANA.

That's 4 of their top 7 from last year that are gone.
Goalies don't adjust well to new defensive groups.

When Ryan Miller had his terrible season following his Vezina, it was because BUF had lost Tallinder & Lydman, and perhaps another to free agency.
Myers was only in his 2nd year and he was completely lost out there without his D-partner.

Apparently, Dallas sees good things in their kids.
    I don't know... we'll see.

Dallas also added older, softer forwards in Jagr & Whitney & Roy. And they let Ott go, who was defensively solid.
That might help their offense, but not their defense.
(Maybe they are just trying to sell tickets with offense???)

I think Dallas will be in several 5-4 and 6-5 games this year...
