help, anyone?
Looking for some feedback on recent draft - I've been out of the hockey loop for a while, so I'm not too sure how I did.
12 teams, H2H
9F, 5D, 1U, 2G
G, A, +/, PTS, PIM, SOG, PPP
W, GAA, SV%
My plan was to wait on goalies due to the 7/3 split but couldn't pass on Rask when I saw him available:
F - Stamkos
F - Sharp
F - Eberle
F - Semin
F - Moulson
F - Vanek
F - McDonald
F - Atkinson
F - Downie
D - Pietrangelo
D - Enstrom
D - Smith
D - Kulikov
D - Carkner
U - Granlund
BN - Wolski, R Johansen, J Jokinen, M Scheifele
G - Rask
G - Dubnyk
BN - Harding
I have 3 waiver claims in:
Drop Harding, Claim Reimer
Drop Scheifele, Claim McDonagh
Drop J Jokinen, Claim Hagelin
help, anyone?
Wow, Nice job. I think you drafted a great team! Stamkos and Eberle will be great, Rask will be one of the best goalies this season and Pietranglo ..boy oh boy, I would love to watch this team.
10 Keepers
10 Team, 10 Keeper
Head to Head: G,A,P,PPP,SHP,BS,FW,GAA,SV%,SO
Daily changes: 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4D, 1Util, 2G

LW: Gaudreau, Drouin
RW: Kessel, B. Ryan, Nyquist
D: Hedman
G: Holtby
Don't mistake opinion for fact.
I really like your team. The league is very points focused and more specifically sniper focused with G,P,SOG,PPP. PP1 snipers will be huge. Stamkos, Eberle, Semin, Moulson I love in this format.
Peit, Enstrom, Kulikov I like at D. Smith I'm not crazy about in one-year leagues but as a 5th D-man I don't hate he'll add PIMs and could be a sleeper.
Rask will be great, Dubnyk will be improved and get a decent share of the starts. Harding is not a good pick IMO good call dropping him. Reimer is a big question mark I don't expect big things and if Luongo does get shipped there his value is nil. In head-to-head I see him as a spot starter at best and personally with Rask/Dubnyk I'd carry 2 goalies and an extra skater over Reimer. What other goalies are available on the wire?
I like the drops you made but would have made different pickups. Personally I don't carry an extra D-man and would prefer to add extra scorer forwards, maybe some with some grit, or a goon if you're concerned about PIMs .
All in all I think you'll do very well each week in G, PPP, SOG, P, above average in A, average in +/-, maybe light in PIMs
goalie stats should be average starting Rask and Dubnyk most nights and only using Reimer where necessary.
12 team H-2-H 1 year league, daily roster changes, 3 goalie start minimum/week

C: C. Keller, C. Mittelstadt, B. Nelson, R. Strome,
LW: K. Connor, B. Tkachuk, J. Gaudreau, J. Marchessault, E. Rodrigues, A. Lafreniere
RW: K. Fiala, J. Bratt, T. Jeannot V. Arvidsson

G: L. Thompson, F. Gustavsson, V. Vanecek

Ok I'll take a shot.
Your top 3 forwards are great The rest of the forward group tails off a little although Semin could have a bounce back year and Moulson is good for 30 goals in a full season. Therefore your forwards are a little top heavy. I think you might need 1 or 2 big assists guys as you seem to be a little light in that category. Rask could be a top 3 goalie this year but he has to stay healthy. I think Dubnyk is underrated but would prefer that he'd be your number 3 instead of your number 2. I think you have some nice defensemen but I think you need to upgrade Kulikov who is unsigned still and talks seem to have stalled. I can see Carkner scratched some nights as the Islanders just claimed/signed 3 defensemen.
I think overall the team is solid but will ultimately depend on whether you manage it well (trades, waiver moves) on if it can be a contender.
Carkner!
Bwa-ha-ha... love it.
I think this is a good team... very strong by forwards.
As long as Dubnyk doesn't tank your GAA & SV%, you'll be looking top 5.
I would consider jettisoning (dumping) Kulikov.
Not looking good for him right now to start with FLA... I worry about Russians in contract-talks.
Thanks for the insight ... info I had no idea (like Kulikov)
So here's available players
D - McDonagh, Hamhuis, Bouwmeester, Staal, Schenn, Kuba
G - not much of anything...
F - Hagelin, Ott, Kreider, Turris, Galchenyuk
Given that I'd:
1. Dump Carkner fo McDonagh
2. Give Kulikov one more week to sign before cutting him I suspect the last holdouts will sign quickly once games start. You already spent a draft pick on him so don't cut bait immediately, he's in game shape from the KHL so missing camp won't hurt him too bad. If it drags on I'd drop Kulikov for Schenn.
3. Dump Scheifele for Ott. Ott will have a few points but more importantly give you a big boost in PIMs.
