I would take grigorenko here as JVR has not really shown anything and typically Toronto is where careers go to die.

grigorenko or JVR next 3-5 year window.
G A blks hits PIM +/- sog pts ppp shp
grigorenko is prospect eligible on the farm up till 100 GP and JVR is not. limited keeper but i have room to keep JVR, but he eats a pro spot. both will cost relatively the same, grigs a bit more b/c of hype/eligibility etc.

...oh boy... this build is gonna be a while...
For the first 3 years I like JVR, after that it might be more tempting to go with Grigorenko. JVR is ready to help contribute now, so if you need that contribution he would be my pick.
I think JVR would help you more now, but Grigorenko will be better in a few years from now IMO.

JVR for sure, Grigorenko is still just a prospect at this point and won't be in the NHL for a few years.
JVR could be converted to a centre and play between Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. Don't lose sight of that, plus he's still very young.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
A guy who is young and still posses very good upside and is currently in the NHL vs a guy who is also very young and has good upside but not in the NHL. I take the NHL player. JVR
