Default 50 goals in 48 games, anyone?

Now, I don't know if anyone will, but I was just having a geek out moment thinking about how awesome this would be. Stamkos is a potential threat for this. Would love to see Ovechkin get his scoring touch back. What about one of the young guns in Edmonton?

So what bold predictions for insane (by today's standards) milestones could we see in this shortened season?

No chance but if someone does it's Crosby or Stamkos. No other options are allowed.

I know. The good ol' days players pulling a Gretzky seem long gone, but a guy can dream.

What are the max points in a 48 game schedule we might see?

How about a more realistic question? Will Gomez score a goal this year?

I'm thinking 75ish. Somewhere in that 1.5 PPG area.

I thought he was going to go to the Anchorage Alaska Aces in the ECHL.

That's still pretty incredible. 75 is very respectable in a full 82 game season. Would be very impressed if we see that kind of statistic this year.

Not bad for him. Then again, it is the ECHL... which I used to be able to watch in town before the team folded.

Highly unlikely, but if something like that were to happen, it could only be Stamkos.

A couple of seasons ago he had a pretty sick start to the season where he had something like ~30 in the first 30 games and people were talking 50/50 until he fell off.

    Sidney Crosby - 66 points - 41 games - 2010-11 season. It's in play.

I doubt it. I very much doubt any player on the Oilers accomplish the feat. If anyone can I would think it would be Crosby or Stamkos, and unlike others I would give Ovechkin the even slighter possibility. But again I doubt anyone accomplishes the feat this season.

Hilarious thread! In a good way! I said to a guy I work with the other day "who will score 50 in 48"???

If anyone can do it, its Stammer! I went down to Sarnia to watch him play in one of his last playoff games with the Sting....guy popped a hatter like it was nothing...sick shot!

A buddy of mine is working out with Gary Roberts. They are developing an executive workout plan together. A workout for office jockeys, not hockey players. He says everyone knows when Stammer is in the building as he is a beast in the gym! Everyone stops and watches him! Good luck Stammer! Would love to see it!
