Exactly, Forsberg was traded to get Erat.. The Caps want to win soon, they need to win now for their fans..

Clearly the other GM is worried about this scenario so use it to your advantage.

He is trying to get something for him and alleviate the "worry" of whether he may, or may not, come over to the NHL.

Now may be the only time you can get him for cheap.

Like the other posters have mentioned though, if you have a place to stash him then great. If not, don't bother with the headache.

There's also no harm in seeing what the asking price will be.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with Kuznetsov at all.

I may be way-off but as a GM, I don't think I would trade a good prospect (Forsberg), if I didn't think I had more up-and-commers in the pipeline.
As a Caps fan I think it was more of looking at the pipeline and seeing Wilson rising quickly that helped ease McPhee into moving Forsberg. With Ovie's move to the right side you're looking at as soon as next year Ovie RW1 Brouwer RW2 Wilson RW3 with no room for Forsberg.

I'm not confident that he's coming to the NHL . I only own 1 russian (Malkin) andit's because he plays for my favorite team ...

I'd go after Kuznetsov hard. He has the potential to be a special player in the NHL and he will probably play on a line with Backstrom and Ovechkin. Has 100+ point upside easily so acquiring him is worth it. I believe he'll be here at the start of the 2014-15 season and will make an immediate impact.

Is this Kuznetsov? We caught you buddy...nice one!!!

Please provide me a list of all the players in the past 15 years to score 100+ points and then make a sound argument that Kuznetsov is even comparable to them....this should be fun

100 points is quite bold prediction. It's not impossible but I would rather set the line maybe to 75 points. And there's maybe a 50% chance that he'll get there. He's good, there's no denying it. But not even close to being a 100% sure superstar.

100 points ia a very bold prediction. Considering that he doesn't even have a PPG status in the KHL.

However, he does have an interesting pedigree. He is the #2 player in the World Juniors' for most points in a game; #1 is Forsberg.

Nevertheless, the possibility to be a prime point getter is there; especially if the backstrom/ovy/green of old emerges (unlikely).

BUT the good news is that he will definitely be playing (as reports state) in 2014-2015. ANDDD may even see him next season in the playoffs for the Caps.

2 of those guys on that list are going to be his linemates. The 3 of them will be more productive than the 2 of them. With the 3 of them on the ice together there's no way he'll get even close to the defense's entire attention. He's a special talent that can control the game as a playmaker or a finisher. I'm confident he's going to be a sure superstar regardless of what team or line he plays for and playing with Backstrom and Ovechkin gives him 100 pt upside.

Guy can't even get a PPG in Russia. Brutal 11 points in 25 playoff games.

No exaggeration, I think the chances of Kuznetsov scoring 100 points in the NHL is about 3.5%

Tough to score any points in the NHL when most will be surprised if he even ends up there.
