Age is the deciding factor for me here....Roy is past his prime, Stastny hasn't hit it yet. Stick with Stastny for long term success.
What are your thoughts on D Roy? He is now behind Benn in Dallas. Do you expect his productive to slip a bit?
I have a rival GM who is interested in Stastny for him. Both are coming off sub par seasons. Who would you rather own for the league in my sig?

I would prefer Stastny too, but just barely. Pretty even overall.
I'd also rather have Stastny over Roy.

I'll go against the grain and pick Roy. I don't agree he's past his prime. He was close to a PPG player before his injury and I think there's enough quality wingers in Dallas (Eriksson, Jagr, Whitney, Benn) so that he can have good linemates.
Stastny has been a 50-55 points producer in the last couple of years. I don't see any reason, except his potential, why he would go back to being a 70+ guy. If you believe it, then go for it, but I think most people will be disappointed.
The age difference is only 2 years so it's not like you're picking a young gun over an old vet.

...oh boy... this build is gonna be a while...
I'd go with Roy.
Players usually show a rejuvenation in a new location.
I think Roy is going to play with some passion again... unlike the last couple years in Buffalo where he was stuck with Vanek & Pominville (not bad wingers, but things get "old" quickly when you aren't winning... and Ruff can be a hound).
I'm pretty sure Roy & the Buffalo brass had a falling out, leading to the trade.
Usually, the player is out to "prove 'em wrong" after that.
Stastny is still in the "I can't believe they trade Chris Stewart"-funk.
I think he'll be a decent player someday... outside of Colorado.
But I wouldn't advice that anybody wait for that day.
ROY.
