    Default Jamie Benn

First off he hasn't been signed yet. Is there any chance that he plays anywhere but Dallas this year?

And secondly, I'm very high on him. But we only have 4 guys to protect from last year's roster. I think, nay, hoping he has a breakout year. But am I being too optimistic?

Right now I am protecting Spezza, Pietrangelo, Benn and then I'm not sure. My options are Gaborik, Semin, Price and Bryz.

Is Benn the right play here as my third option? This is a keeper league and I think he will be an 80 point guy going forward.

Our league is head to head with G and A worth 1 point each. That's it.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
    10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
    G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen

He'll sign with the Dallas Stars.

I'd definitely keep him over Gabby and Semin. Not even close. The final keeper for me would be Price.

Yes, Price seems like a good play....but Bryz will play for a better team

I like the idea of keeping Benn over Gaborik or Semin as he is far more durable.

As for goalies, it depends on your cats. If you count peripherals such as SV% and GAA I would go with Price. If it's strictly wins and shut-outs, Bryz by a mile.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Bryz will still get worse stats. Price is much better goalie.

Your keepers should be based on roster allocation (which we don't know) and number of teams in your league (which we don't know).

On a hunch though, I probably would keep:
*Spezza, Benn, Gaborik, Bryz (assuming its W=2, SO=3)

its been a bit since ive paid a ton of attention to fantasy hockey, but i can offer you the knowledge that having Jagr on my Flyers last year did a lot for our young players, at least in terms of work ethic but most likely insight as well. benn should resign in Dallas, and I'm really high on him going forward.

I would keep Spezza, Pietrangelo, Benn and Price (depending on what goalies are worth in your league.)
I would also see Gaborik over Pietrangelo, again depending on your league info.
    Weekly H2H points only (Year 9 - 2015-16)
    12 teams limited keeper (keep 6 + 1 Rookie)

Our categories are as basic as can be:

1 point for Goals and assists
    2 for a goalie win
    3 for a SO.

I'm keeping Pietrangelo because I think he is going to be a stud. We have to start 3 fwds and 2D, so Dmen are important.

I'd still take Price. He's only a year removed from a 38 win season and Montreal is better team that they're being given credit for. You don't also have to worry about him being subject of a compliance buyout during the next two summers.

Any thoughts on Backstrom for Minnesota? I have a chance to get him. Do you think they will be a better team with the additions of their hundred million dollar men?

They should be better and Backstrom should be more well protected this year with Suter on the back end and a great 2 way forward in Parise. However Backstrom is old and injury prone.. and in a condensed year with a very very good back up (Harding) I don't expect Backstrom to play enough games to trade for him.

As a word of caution about Bryz.. rumor has it that the Flyers might try to get Luongo. And before anyone says "there is no way", the Flyers aren't known for being a patient organization and have 2 contract buyouts that they can use. I really wouldn't be surprised if the Flyers traded some of their forward depth for Luongo so they had 2 good goalies this year (with the condensed season) and then let them battle it out and buyout the loser at the end of the year. Just a thought on that.. you never know with Philly.

I've heard the Luongo to Philly rumours, but our draft isn't until next Friday so I think it will play itself out by then.

Thanks for all the advice guys.
