The Seguin deal, or the failure to acquire Luongo? Wonder which did it.

    Doesn't take much.
Probably a disagreement with the owners about something CBA related. (?)

Wow! I'm floored. If this turns out to be true I want to thank Burke for everything he did for the franchise. I know, I know, the Leafs didn't make the playoffs under his watch but they're in a better position than they have been in a long time and as much as the Kessel trade hurt he landed some beauties after that!

Wow! This came out of nowhere.

I wonder if he refused to trade for Luongo while ownership is insisting on getting him? I'm sure we'll find soon enough.

Pretty sure it didn't matter who was running the show, they were going to get canned with that setup. I didn't mind Burke.

This is great news. Never liked Burke.

Toronto seems to have a knack for bringing in stud GMs and subsequently making them look mediocre. Same thing has happened to Colangelo, who was widely regarded as one of the top GMs in the NBA when we brought him in.

I'm starting to wonder if some of these "top GMs" are just overhyped and are a product of fortuitous situations, or if it's something related to the Toronto market.

Wow, this is a terrible mistake in my books. I hated the Kessel trade, but beyond that Burke has been solid. What a gong show.

Very odd timing, but Burke is one of the biggest frauds in the entire sport, so it's a good move for the Leafs.

Can't wait to hear the reasons for this though.

Wow. I'm absolutely shocked, especially regarding the timing. It would have made more sense to let a new GM do the draft etc, which makes me believe something significant must have happened to damage his relationship with ownership recently.
