Default Interesting interview done today by Ken Holland

Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland: "We got some makin up to do with the fans. One by one, we have the best fans. Cap issues are coming up in 2013-14. We've got depth if we have injuries but questions remain about defense, our defense has to evolve. Our team may not be as star studded as past, it's going to be a sprint. We need to get off to a good start are there are so many good teams in the West, such a close conference. Luck with injuries could play a factor. Should be a real 'photo finish' to make playoffs! We gotta get in and get on a roll. We were the opposite last year and never got it going. Brendan Smith is an NHL defenseman. It's the best men's league in the world and he can skate hard and shoot well. We like him, he's young and we think we can get 10 years outta him. We're going to dress the best 6 defensemen and Smith is part of our rebuild or reload. 12 or 14 of our players are 28 years old or younger. Best are older, but we're rebuilding and overhauling for the long haul. Jonas Gustavsson is in it to re-establish his career. He's a Swede and likes that we have a team of Swedes. We have a great 1-2 punch. Petr Mrazek is doing well. Thomas McCullom is doing much better. They're ready if we need depth at goal. I Love our depth at goal. Grand Rapids is a team of young kids. Ferraro has 12 goals, Sheahan is great and I already talked about strength in goal. We like Damien Brunner and we are keeping him with Zetterberg. Brunner is obviously a world class player. He's getting an opportunity. Gustav Nyquist will either be on team after camp or stay in Grand Rapids untill his injuries are fixed."

This was done today on a Detroit Radio Station. I got this info from Facebook and a group that I am part of.

Just hyping up the fans. Even Sentium got way to excited and failed to realize Thomas 'McCullom' was spelled incorrectly.

By the way, McCollum doing much better? I guess when your playing the ECHL there is only one way to go but up. He will never be a NHL goalie. It's a shame because his puck handling skills are amazing.

I think grand rapids sent Pearce down to the ECHL and kept McCollum as the backup. I wouldn't say he has ever been good but he is playing better than last season.

Yea, he starts out the year in the AHL and then usually (last two years) gets sent down mid way through.

McCollum played both games when the Griffins came to town. He wasn't good. And he wasn't good when the Marlies beat him late Dec either. From the 3 times I've seen him play this year....below average at best BUT elite puck handling skills. Im surprised he doesn't have more assists!

Crazy to think they drafted him right before Markstrom, and after Pickard.

Good stuff. Crazy to see them be so confident with Brunner. I guess it has to be because they've seen what he can do with Zetterberg. Mrazek has been fantastic.....12-3-1 with a 0.921 save percantage and 2.10 GAA! For a rookie that's pretty impressive.

Im curious to see what they do with their forwards as they have plenty to deal with, especially if Nyquist makes the team.

Love how Detroit reloads and not rebuilds.

World class organization. All other franchises should be jealous.
