    Default Who to move?

Hey guys, we expanded to 12 teams this off season with 2 expansion teams. A lot of the teams in our league lost most of their depth. I'm still looking pretty good having lost JVR, Nabokov and Wideman in the expansion draft.

We start 8 F's and I seem to have too many. I won the championship 2 years ago and can still compete for it. I'm trying to rebuild slowly without sacrificing too much of my roster (easier said than done I know)

So guys I should build around would be Ovi, Skinner, Ryan, Baertschi, Granlund, Voracek, Subban, Green, Byfuglien, Murphy

The next tier of guys are superstars but are aging...Should I look to move these guys or hold onto them? Datsyuk, Hossa, Zetterberg, Marleau...

Would you move Stastny or do you see him bouncing back?

I'm looking for a market for Vinny and Briere but there doesn't seem to be much out there.

Here is a list of players I would think to be available, let me know if you'd move any of the above 2 groups for any combos of these guys...

    Team 1

    Stepan
    Roy
    Carter
    Neuvirth

    Team 2

    Tarasenko
    Kuznetsov
    Kulikov
    J Staal
    Voynov
    Enroth

    Team 3

    Connolly
    Burmistrov
    Strome
    Zibanejad
    Kassian

    Thanks!

I have Stastny in one pool. I keep sitting on him because his trade value stinks, there is upside there... I suspect you could get something horrible for him in return.

Briere - same as Stastny, but then add age = something horrible, horrible

Vinny - we still hope that there's something more than 60 pointer, don't we?

    Team 1

Stepan - good one, still rising
    Roy - expect bounce back
Carter - more good seasons to come
    Neuvirth - I think he's the starter

    Team 2

    Tarasenko - very good one
Kuznetsov - very good one, if he comes to North America
    Kulikov - very good one
    J Staal - 60 pointer
Voynov - 30 to 40 pointer, with upside of 45
    Enroth - stuck in Buffalo

    Team 3

Connolly - Brett - interesting kid, status could change rapidly
Burmistrov - will he step up? Too small?
Strome - got to love this kid
    Zibanejad - is he points?
Kassian - slower time line in my mind

You have to find a guy feeling stress to do a deal.
A Briere isn't going to get you much more than a Zib/Kassian (if that). Vinny would be lucky to pull you a top tier prospect & something else.
Stastny - maybe a couple strong prospects...

Exactly what I was looking for thanks!

It's hard with guys like Vinny and Briere because their trade value is so low. I guess it's better to wait for an opponent to run into injury concerns and then try and max their value or just hold onto them and pray they pick it up

I'm hanging onto Briere with those thoughts in mind!

I guess Visnovsky kinda stuck it to me....
I guess Tim Thomas kinda stuck it to me...

Was just able to swing Michalek for the 6th overall pick in our prospects draft. Should be able to land a guy like Reilly, Kreider, Forsberg, Silfverberg, Bjugstad, Teravainen

I like what you have, your a contender and you should remain one for a good while. You don't need to sell off any off your top name veterans, unless a good deal comes along, but there's no need to actively shop them and take the best offer that comes.

With Vinny and Briere if there doesn't seem to be anyone interested, there guys I wouldn't want to sell for scraps. It might just be me but I think they will continue to produce moving forward as good as any likely return.

With Stastny the potential is still there, and I think he can be much better than what he's shown in terms of putting up points. Again unless something could comes back for him, there's absolutely no reason to lose him.

Your a contender, and while it's nice to get younger, if a good trade doesn't come around, you don't need to make one happen for the sake of getting younger. You can patiently wait for the values of your players to increase.

I would trade Briere for Carter from Team 1, if possible.

From Team 2 if you could get Staal plus Tarasenko, I might consider moving one of my older top guys.

No one makes sense from Team 3, for you to be giving away any of your players.
