Default Final advices for my goalies...

I\'ve started several threads about this, but this should be the last one!

Here\'s the matchups for my three goalies:

    Luongo : 17/03 PHO, 20/03 @EDM, 21/03 MIN, 25/03 @CGY, 26/03 @COL, 28/03 @MIN, 30/03 CGY, 1/04 COL, 03/04 EDM, 05/04 CGY

    Theo: 17/03 MIN, 20/03 @CGY, 22/03 @EDM, 24/03 CGY, 26/03 VAN, 28/03 EDM, 30/03 @MIN, 1/04 @VAN, 06/04 MIN

    Ward: 19/03 @ATL, 20/03 @FLA, 25/03 WAS, 28/03 ATL, 29/03 @TB, 1/04 @WAS, 2/04 TB, 4/04 FLA

I\'ve 13 games left for my goalies and until I hear something different, I would assume Luongo will play 10 (VCR has 2 B2B games) games and I\'m looking forward to start him everytime. So that leaves me with 3 games to split between Theo and Ward. Which matchups would you pick?

    Thanks!

Personally I wouldn\'t be so sure about Luongo as nothing to do with him but I don\'t see the Canucks winning many games.
But since you\'ll go with his 10 games, I\'d go with Ward\'s games against ATL (2 of them) and his game against TB. Theo\'s easiest game to me is Edmonton who\'s hot or maybe even Vancouver (you\'d be guaranteed a win that way). But I\'d go with the 3 games I mentioned for Ward.
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

i would take Ward vs TB those two times. TB is a mess and he will at least pick up a win between those two games (smith is better than what they had, but TB is still not very good).

The last game i would give to ward too since he is more motivated fighting for a playoff spot. But i would use him a start after a disaster night for him.

    Thanks guys!

Sure VCR won\'t win them all. They have a pretty rough schedule. However, when you own a guy like Luongo, you have almost no choice to start him every night as he can win games on his own.

So you\'re both more sold on Ward than Theodore. Sure the Canes have a better schedule than the Avs. The only thing I hate about Ward is his inconsistency...

    Anybody else?

Chic you know my opinion on Luongo. Play the stud goalie at all costs.

I like the other 3 games as follows:

Col is hot but the NW is unpredictable.
Stick with Carolina who is on a role with ward:

    19/03 @ATL
    28/03 ATL
    2/04 TB

Atl and TB are just horrible teams.

Sure I know your opinion on BobbyLu and it\'s mine too!

ATL should be a good matchup. As Marty already pointed me out, Ward is 3-1-1 (3.17 GAA and .872 SV%) this year against them.

    As for TB, he\'s 3-2 (2.42 GAA and .917 SV%) this year.

As I said earlier, inconsistency is what makes me worry. He gets beaten by a decimated BUF and gets the win vs OTT...

Well luckily Ward won\'t be playing for you against Buffalo so you don\'t have to worry about that. However a goalie who\'s been 6-1 in the month of March is a pretty good bet to start.

As for the Avs\' only easy games against EDM. Since Budaj is 5-0 vs. the Oil this year 1.97/.912, those will be his games to play, and Theo will not get those starts.

However, I\'m going to get shot for this, but if you\'re hesitant to play Ward, or you\'re thinking your tired of Luongo possibly stinking it up for a game or two... the only other thing I would consider is:

Theo vs. the Nucks... 3-0-1 this year 1.71/.937 splits (Those 3 wins have been since Feb. 9th which is also a good sign).

March 26 is the back end of a double header for the Canucks in Colorado after playing in Calgary the night before. I see the Canucks gettin\' a little woren down from the battle of Alberta and it would be a great time to give Theo a start.

Col has the nucks # this year but I can\'t go against my boys with a game against a division rival. The nucks seem to play better under pressure and I them putting a nice run in down the stretch.

    Crazy bold prediction.
    6-2-2 down the stretch.

Vancouver\'s 12-6-5 record vs. the NW is a little deceiving.

They went 9-0-2 in Oct./Nov. But are only 3-6-3 since than.

My bold prediction is 3-4-3 down the stretch and they miss the playoffs. Hence why this is a BOLD prediction haha... I think by missing the playoffs, it will push the front office to finally address their need for secondary scoring that everyone\'s been hoping for the last few years. I may be off my rocker, but what\'s the fun in going with the flow :silly:

Don\'t jinx the Nucks and BobbyLu!!! I will need him for the final stretch!

I like your idea of playing Theo over Luongo for this specific game, but I would still need to play Ward for 3 games. But that should cover my ass in case Luongo don\'t start in the second game (I doubt it though...)

I\'m sure the pieces will all fall into place.

I\'m hoping that I\'m wrong, I would love to see as many Canadian teams make tha playoffs as possible. But I\'m just getting this weird feeling in my gut.... it could also be from all heavy drinking this weekend Happy St. Paddy\'s Day!!!
