    Default Tarasenko

With wich player can we compare this new Blues star in term of points?

    Is like a Radolov?
    A Toews?

70-80 points per year at his peak is realistic?

More of a goalscorer than both of those two. I'd give him 90-95 points upside.

    Here's a good analysis:

    http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1380

    1. Vladimir Tarasenko, Right Wing
    2010-11 Ranking: 1st
    Date of birth: 12/13/1991
    Age: 20
    Height: 6'0''
    Weight: 201
    Shoots: Left
    Statistics: 54 GP, 23 G, 47 P, 16:44 ATOI (Sibir/SKA-KHL)
Acquired: First round, 16th overall in 2010 by St. Louis

The Good: Tarasenko was a KHL All-Star this year and at times either led or was near the league lead in scoring. He's a very skilled player with well above-average puck skills, good instincts, an elite shot, a good first few steps, and a great two-way work ethic. Tarasenko contributes to the game in so many ways: he can dangle through players, fight off checks and power to the net, snipe a goal from mid distance, or be a good penalty killer blocking shots and forcing takeaways. He could step into the NHL next year as an above-average regular.

The Bad: Tarasenko is slightly undersized and his top speed could be a little better. Other than that he has no real glaring weakness.

Projection: He could be an All-Star winger.

When I say upside I mean it in the same way Dobber means it. What he could achieve if he had the perfect season, injury free, hot linemates that also had good years, etc. I'm certainly not alone in that assessment when it comes to Taraenko's upside. Yes, he has the talent and drive to be a top ten scorer.

I would agree with this.....at his top top end in a perfect season I could see him crack 90. I do think he can break 80 a few times in his career, he has an incredible shot and he's just overall a very good young player.

Tarasenko could peak at 80-90, may never get there but he most certainly has the potential for it.

First full season I'd expect 50-60 points, from Tarasenko.

Naw, Dustin Brown is a 30 goal scorer. If you're expecting more from Tarasenko you're gonna be disappointed.

i think tarasenko has the potential to be a FAR better offensive player than brown. brown has only scored 30 goals once in his 8 year career and that came 5 years ago. i think 30 goals and 70 points is fair expectation for tarasenko when things get rolling for him.

I think Bobby Ryan type of numbers and potential. 30-35G and another 30-42A - average years will hover around 63-68 points and peak years 34-42-76 points. I don't see him being an 80-80+ threat because he plays too gritty.

Dustin Brown can't score a goal like the one Tarasenko just did. At least I've never seen it.
