    Default Yakupov vs Galchenyuk

Thinking of offering Yak for Gal straight across in a points $ league, weekly H2H, similar league as sig. Figuring that Yak is likely the only currency for Gal, with the added touch that neither has played a game yet. Will come down to FPts/G, and Cs sometimes have the edge with FOW considered.

    Thoughts?

Looks like you took the deal already. But as much as I love Galchenyuk, you had to have gotten more for Yakupov. Not good

    Two super top prospects.

I reallylike both, but I think Galchenyuk will be a more complete player. Also, Galchenyuk will be on 1st line and PP with Mtl. If Yakupov plays great, he could also be on 1st line and PP, but the risk is there.

Within a fantasy perspective, what do you mean by a more complete player?

If Yaks can find his way in the NHL you have to love his supporting cast in Edmonton

No, my sig is another league, but wondering if my attraction to Gal is a little biased, and fearing I am missing something about Yak..

I like Gally's work ethic, but Yak seems to have a little more on his side. Even Hockey'sfuture ranks him higher. So stick with him and at least you can own both in separate leagues.

Yakupov is a better fantasy player, period. Galchenyuk might be a better on-ice difference maker but that's not what we're going for here.

It's what I think by following both of them since October 2012, on ice and in media.

For me it's like comparing Malkin and Ovechkin,I prefer the attitude of Malkin, but Ovechkin is also great.

I agree that there is definitely differences in players. However, that difference is not measurable with reference to fantasy hockey. A fantasy-related (but not hockey) example I like to use is Barry Bonds. Not overly likeable, but a monster in fantasy when he was playing. Careful in associating those valuations with fantasy. While they may impact your preference for a guy, it doesn't really impact your fantasy output.

With regards to Yakupov vs Galchenyuk (I like both BTW), I think Yakupov would get the edge in just about every format. Unless the league is FaceOff heavy (without hits and other categories), then at this point I'd take Yakupov. This may very well change in 4 or 5 years, but based on my observations I'd take Yak over Gally.

Interesting kind of fear when such a high-rated prospect star is about to join a group of stars, and got confused by thoughts triggered by his no-pass drives during the WJC. Chivalry could cost him dearly on a team that plays as a team, but seems like the read on him is that he will do well anywhere, if that time ever did come. Then again, he might just steal the show and that is a scary thought for non-Edmonton fans.

Thanks for the input, probably will stay the course.

I'm thinking along these lines. Most will give the edge to Yak from a talent perspective. Let's just assume it's a dead heat in talent. Yak's supporting cast is so sick, he's more asured to outpoint Galy. FOW won't be enough to offset the production gap as I see it. Sorry, but I prefer Yak. I hope it works out for you.
