    Default Nyquist vs Coyle

I finally get my first pick in the 3rd round and Im thinking eithier of these two players. They are both Blue Chippers according to Dobber's draft guide. What I was wondering is who has the better long term upside and 3 year potential.

Are they both going to be playing this year (if we have NHL) on the big team?

In a points only I would have said Nyquist. You could make a case that Coyle will find himself a place next to Granlund on the Wild's second line.

In the end pims might be a wash, so I'd still take Nyquist.

Short term Nyquist will for sure be in Detroit logging significant minutes. I feel both project to produce relatively close in points in the long term, Coyle has more of a " multi-cat" game to his style. So depending upon on how quick your looking for production and what type of league setup your in could determine your choice. For me, in both points-only and multi-cat setups I go with Coyle. Short term, ( this year, and maybe next year) I'd go with Nyquist. The multi-cat aspect separates Coyle from Nyquist for me.

Neither of them have ever been big in PIMs so it a relative non factor. I'll take the guy with the more proven professional scoring record in Nyquist.

Give me Nyqust as well. It's year in the AHL is going to do wonders for his career. I expect top six on the Wings whenever we get some hockey.

In a Multi-cat, I'd take Coyle. In a points only or if you're looking for the quickest impact, Nyquist.

Short term, I'd definitely take Nyquist. Three years down the road, I'd likely want Coyle, especially in a multi-cat. If I had to choose one right now, it'd be Nyquist.
