I don't really see anything compelling enough on his team that would tempt me to deal malkin in a keep 7.

If I'm dealing Malkin, it better involve Stamkos/Crosby/Girioux/Lundqvist coming back in some shape form or fashion.

In such a limited keeper, no way I would deal Malkin unless it was for Stamkos.

Agreed with the others - I'd want an elite forward coming back in a limited keeper. Not even Karlsson plus other parts is enough for Malkin. I would keep Malkin.

By the way, you should put the type of league (H2H, Roto) and the categories in your signature.

In a limited keeper there's nothing there that would entice me to move Malkin.

Karlsson would be the starting point, but I just don't see any additional pieces that would make the deal make sense for you.

If I am trading Malkin, I'd either need Stamkos or Crosby, or Tavares/Giroux + more. And even then I'd hold off most likely. He's too good.

I think the others covered the trade scenario well, but I wanted to cover something else. You are not obliged to counter. This is Malkin we're talking about, not Jiri Hudler. You own one of the elite and everyone in your league wants him. If I owned Malkin I would never offer him in a trade. I would wait for someone to knock my socks off with a killer overpayment or just keep him and reap the rewards.

Eric, I was the person who offered the trade. When I received the response that he'd only trade Malkin if he was getting a really good player back in return, I asked him to take a look at my team and see if there was something there that could get a deal done.

Of course he was under no obligation to send a counter. But a courtesy "no thanks, there's nothing on your team I'd want" or "he's not available" would have been great. I was lead to believe that he could be obtained, and I simply asked if I had enough to get it done.
