Revisiting an old trade
Last year I made a trade which saw me move my first round pick last year and this year, for the 2nd overall last year.
I took Galchenyuk at #2 and the other guy took Faksa at #7. With the entire season now looking lost, my first round pick this year (that he has) will most likely be #7 again. When I made the trade I'd anticipated moving up the standings a bit and that pick only being worth around #15-20.
So I guess the question is, is Faksa & this years #7 worth giving up for Galy?

You can't know for sure until enough time has past, but I would make that trade a million times out of a million.
Consider Giroux was picked 22nd overall his draft year, Subban 43rd and James Neal 33rd, so it is possible that Faksa and this next years 7th could make the big time, but the probability is fairly low.

Yeah that's right - kinda thought I said that.
I do wonder however if the halo effect is placing Galchenyuk in the sell high zone.
This is really a no brainer, but likely at the time trade occured the knee injury Galy sustained could have scared the other GM. At this point we can certainly view this as a no brainer but I don't like MTLs history of Russians and wonky knees, they seem to like to go all in on them.
